So all of this will run fine on the IPF tune (80 mm tb, ported intake, intake spacer)? I want the overkill tune but I can't justify the money right now since I just got the IPF tune last July.

Might want to have the tune re-done a bit to maximize the gains, but yes, it will all work just fine.

For those with OCD, I could supply my front drive adapter plate which has less rotation. I don't know what the hood clearance is like with the JacFab spacer, it could be just fine, perhaps Derek will have to test this for me so we know for sure.

You won't lose any low end torque from this throttle body, on the contrary. Throttle tip in will be better since the same movement on this 80mm blade moves so much more air than the stock 72mm for the same rotation.

The caveat is that the LFX uses a torque based throttle control system at part throttle. Basically so much pedal input at suchnsuch an engine rpm the computer is aiming for a specific engine torque output, and will use multiple items including the throttle body opening to achieve this. Remapping this makes a big difference with the 80mm throttle body, I have specific maps for both the stock TB and 80mm TB. Otherwise, the computer will simply slow the opening rate of the larger throttle body so it achieves the same torque per pedal/rpm as before.
Will, this is perfect for me. Nice set up and that explains a lot as far as torque. I put the engine cover back on with an extension on the oil fill and cover snap bolt. I wouldn't change my tb rotation. The to wire harness is a perfect reach without hassle as its rotated. It fits under the engine cover perfect. Thanks again.

The tune experts(Will and Andy) can cover this much better than my babbling. But I have 80mm, spacer and ported with the ipf tune. Runs awesome. Would it run better with autocal, probably since will tunes for specifics. How I understood Andy at ipf is the only re tune is needed for catless or supercharged because of how they do the parameters. Apparently over 400 parameters are adjusted with ipf and the reason for not needing to retune is because the ecu learning remains, so if I put aftermarket exhaust on it'll adjust as needed. So my guess is a few more horses could be gotten for specific tune which is always an option.

Thanks, I'm sure I could get more out of a specific tune but I'm glad this one will be good enough. Now if only we can find a silicon tube for the CAI intake

I found one on eBay for k&n cai. But that is 3.5"to 3.25". I think we will find the few different ones needed and then everyone will benefit.

I'm working on that now. Patience!
Haha

Just waiting on a few things to show up so I can work some magic

I'll post up as soon as I find something that works.

About to install the Overkill tune and then do some data logging report back soon

Me too. I loaded program 1 then I see there is a "full Overkill" so I'm loading that now. I just emailed Will to find out what the difference is.

Haven't done back to back dyno testing. Those with flex fuel LFXs from factory like the Impalas notice an improvement over the 91/93 gasoline tune and that's backed up with logging delivered torque calculations from the ECM.

Will I'm curious. Do the cts's still need the e85 kit. I read your can just put e85 in the tank and be fine. Apparently a different setup than the camaro?
Very easy to tell if your CTS is flex fuel, it'll have a yellow gas cap. To my knowledge though, most CTSs aren't, the 2013 I tuned 2 weeks ago wasn't, and so it would need a retrofit kit. The ATSs are flex fuel, as are most Impalas/LaCrosse and Equinox/Terrain, haven't seen enough CTSs and XTSs yet, no on Camaro, no on Acadia/Enclave/Traverse (which are LLTs but run on LFX computers in 2012+), so it's all over the map.

The retrofit kit includes an ethanol content sensor from the Impala LFX platform, and I've had custom harnesses made to add the pin to the computer module, plus steal power and ground from a coil pack, so it's all plug and play plus tuning, no splicing wires etc.

Data logs just sent. All I can say guys is I am smiling big time!! I didn't know if it could get a whole better with what I have already done but let me tell you it's like another animal.......again!! Lol seriously putting everything else aside just the tune has netted my butt-dynometer a huge increase in pulling power. Great job Will and let me say this, well worth the wait

Awesome Shawno! Glad to hear you can see/feel a difference. pretty excited to receive mine and do some fine tuning by data logs.

Woot woot!
