Stock P Zeroes vs. Nitto NT05r?

As the title says. I would like to know if it is worth the price? My P Zeroes spin E WAY too easy. Would like to know how much of a difference there is. And, would love to have some M&H or MT et's. But, I am also upgrading the suspension and just don't have the funds for 2x the price per tire.

Because I want the suspension now. And by the time I get done with everything, it will probably be time for more tires.......

Mine dead hook on spray from a 1st gear hit. Not even comparable to P-Zeros, drag radials are on a whole other level in terms of straight line traction.

You know you are talking about two tires which were made for two complete different reasons. P Zeros are street tires. Nittos NT05R are Drag Radials. With that being said...I run the NT05Rs on the street and love them. They are descent in the rain also. I run Mickeys at the track tho. NT05R at the track were a waste of time for me.

Not sure what the difference is between NT05 & NT05R is, but I get about 13,000-14,000 miles out of a set of NT05's (275 front, 315 rear). Similar to what bhill said above, these are more road coarse racing type of tires vs. drag strip traction tires (at least for our HP range). I love them for the street and no longer do much at the track since I have no roll bar.

Think I got the last set installed for around $1300 (near that, can't remember exactly though). I'm about due for my 3rd set.

Must be the difference between them & NT05's; although I admit i've only driven in the rain maybe 3-5 times at most.

I have built cars where I upgraded the suspension first then bought the tires/wheels. Then I have built cars where I bought the tires first then upgraded the suspension. You will get more out of buying the tires first!

There is a reason there are a million articles praising a good set of tires over suspension upgrades. I didn't listen to them in the past.

I've had 3 sets of 18" NT05Rs. I've been able to get a full season out of them including a lot of track passes. Best of 1.51. Very good in rain until they are at the end of life, like this. Then they are sketchy:

They are not the best drag tire. I would give them 4 out of 5 stars. I have a set of MH's too, I would rank them the same.
