Besides the engine and suspension and the better lcd screen. Nothing about this car is appealing to me. When I first got in the 6 I was baffled by how small inside it is. And I'm 5'8 and only 140. I then swiveled my head around to the back and thought maybe I just need to adjust the seats more forward for more space in the back seat. Wrong. Then I went back and sat there myself and my God I had to cook my head to the side or put my knees on the back of the seat so I don't have my head stuck to the roof. Hell even up front the cockpit is small. I feel for people who are like 6+ and 190 lbs and up. It's still plasticity feeling. And the way they did the "show lights" but just that little strip on the insert isn't as grandiose as it is in my 1le. All in all I think and I hate to say this, but the camaro is going to become extinct again. I I swear this is a repeat of 2000-2002 all over again. High priced car that isn't appealing. The whole in time it will grow on me isn't honestly going to work this time. And too add one more thing I hate the new rims on the new 1le. They look like a bland star pattern. Anyways I hope the camaro will be around for the 7th gen. If not, well it was fun team camaro thanks for the car I always wanted!

My fiance and I went to pick up a car at a high volume Chevy dealership in the Bay Area this last Sun and as we were waiting for the finance guy we were browsing the showroom floor. They had 2 6th Gens in there and another 6 out on the lot. All near 50K for a 2SS. I asked my sales guy if they have been selling he told me not a single one. I had walked right past one at my local dealership a few weeks back and never went back to check it out. So, I had some time to check these out and I'm not impressed. I will the say the interior is super nice, but I'm 6'4" and their was no way I was going to feel comfortable in there. The back is hideous one of the major downfalls on the car. The front looked aggressive, but looked very cheap to me with the plastic vents and so forth. My fiance who knows nothing about cars said to me "your camaro looks so much more aggressive and bigger." I will not be getting a 6th gen.

As for sales not a lot of people are going to have 55k plus to spend on a Camaro. Ur in 5th Gen ZL1 territory and that was a special car. These are just standard V8's that are produced to the masses. Chevy really needs to put these high 30's low 40's if that.

Without advertising you'll get your fair share of the market at best. Typical in the box mindset when it comes to marketing. "Everybody knows who we are". Marketers forget that advertising also talks to your current customers. Want to expand your market share? You need to advertise to get your "unfair share" of the market!

At least as far as the V8 cars go, I would have to agree that there is real "value perception" thing at work. This is talking about the enthusiast that is the more likely buyer of the SS.

While you can get a fully equipped Camaro with every available option, performance and cosmetic, for several thousand dollars less than a base 1LT Corvette, the base Corvette is still going to have about 90% of those options standard. That and to the enthusiast, a Corvette is a Corvette, and a Camaro is just a Camaro.

Also, if I'm going to look at these two cars, in terms of design, drivability, and utility, it seems that the Camaro has really tried to cross the threshold into Corvette territory in terms of performance. Which is a double edged sword for them. They have increased the performance level, which is great, but apparently, reduced the utility of the vehicle. So, as an enthusiast, I'm going to ask myself, Do I want to buy a brand new Camaro at $48K, take the hit on depreciation, or, do I find I gently used '14 Corvette for the same money? While I'm not in this position at the moment, for a guy like me this would be a tough decision, but the Corvette would more than likely win out.

Between this dilemma and let's face it, that Mustang is really a pretty sharp car, I think the Camaro has put itself in awkward spot in the market. It's almost like they either needed to go more over the top in design, or scaled down on the tech and thus the pricing to appeal to the masses.

But it's still early, the real sales season is just about to start. Chevy marketing, in my opinion, kind of dropped the ball in opting for the type of reveal they did. Should've done it in Detroit at the big show. It would've gotten a lot more attention.

All that said, there's a lot to like about this new Camaro. GM has really upped the performance and dynamics of this car. It is truly a lot of car for the money, but it is also a lot of money for the car.

Front end of the 6th gen is beautiful. Back half looks like ass.
JMO.

Shit sales don't surprise me at all. SS 6th gens at my local dealer are in the high 40 thousand range which is laughable.

That said, torque news is a terrible site.

$48k is leaving some things out, I just built one on the site and it was $53,280. Knowing the 1LE is coming soon, we all know that the car can be improved in the handling department. 3/4 of the Camaro sales were the V6 cars in the past, but now the lowest priced 1LT is a 4 cylinder that is priced the same as the old 1LT V6. The 1LS & 2LS made up a big chunk of sales in the past but are no longer available. For the small group of us Camaro lovers, for $40k you could get a 2015 base 1SS/1LE and install ZL1 rocker, intake, headers, exhaust, and tune. This would make most as happy as a pig in poo!!!

6th Gen Feb sales - not encouraging !

It'll be £50,000 (excluding £5,000 of MODs) to get to the UK. QED that to $.

Thought the 50th Anniversary one looks great TBH.

It's too expensive, for the 'now'.
#shame

Gen7 please ...

Exactly. It doesnt make any sense to raise the price 20%. Thats just way too much.

This doesn't make sense. The Mustang is crushing it in sales and they perform identically to the Camaro in the snow. People have been lining up to buy the Mustang over the winter. The problem is, Average Joe can't afford a Camaro anymore. GM has lost its identity with the 6th Gen. The Camaro was the performance car for the blue collar American, and now that the blue collar American can't afford a Camaro priced on par with a BMW, the market has been cut dramatically. People don't want to drop $40,000 on a car with a cloth interior, and a $50,000+ Camaro is just a bad joke.

The Camaro may be a better car than the Mustang in terms of performance, but the Mustang is a far better car for the money. As such, the Mustang is and will likely continue to crush the Camaro in sales.

I passed a Gen 6 on the freeway yesterday, took me a second for my brain to say "camaro".
They ruined the Camaro with the redesign. They should have named it something else.

Case and point: Carfagno Chevrolet is a smaller Chevy dealership a few miles from my home.

http://www.carfagnochevy.com/Vehicle...-PA/2656220513

You can get a brand new 2015 1LS for $19,590. Sure, it is the base model, but it is a brand new Camaro with a 100,000 mile warranty in black for under 20 grand. THAT is an incredibly cool starter car for a college grad priced on par with a Civic. If you give a 20-something a choice between a brand new Camaro with a 100,000 mile warranty or a Civic with a 36,000 mile warranty for around the same price, very few folks are going to pick the Civic. The 5th Gen had the perfect combination of power, fuel economy and affordability with great looks. You cannot get a cooler car with that kind of warranty and economy for that price. And the back seats and trunk size was just generous enough that it had some utility. It is a viable daily driver.

That is why they sold so well. The Camaro became a viable economy car for the general public. So many people saw the price tag and went...what the hell, let's live a little! We can afford it. Most Camaros I see on the road are V6's driven by folks in their 40's, a lot of them women. That's gone, baby. Gone.

It's hard to justify a new Gen Camaro SS purchase when I can get a C7 today, CPO, very low miles, in the mid 40s to low 50s range, depending on trim level (1lt, 2lt etc..).
