I have an Elite Engineering can. It's only been on for about 400 miles. I popped the bottom off to see if it was actually doing stuff..and sure enough a bit of oil in the bottom. Glad that isn't being thrown into the intake.

Mike Norris.

Seems to be more in the can in cooler months (condensation?). 4 oz./6,000 miles

Last oil change (summertime, lots of hwy miles), only about 1oz.

Very common with a large cube, boosted or modified engine as the factory restriction is tiny. Take a flashlight and look down into the barb on the rear of the drivers side valve cover.
It's how the Elite catch can works on the inside. I now have the Moroso catch can and no issue. Also when I put the Elite can to my mouth it feels way too restricted compared to the Moroso my car is fine so that barb is not the issue. In order for the Elite to feel as free flowing as the Moroso I would have to take out the internal baffle which I did to see if the baffle was the issue, result, it flowed better but with no baffle it doesn't do it's job.

Actually a poorly designed catch can is worse for the engine than none at all.

Does anyone here have more to add to L99CAMA2011's testimony, that the Elite catch can is not as free flowing as its Moroso competitor, and that this would be significant from a performance standpoint?

Critical Resonance

I am under the understanding that an engine has a RESONANCE in all system at stock pressure and vibration etc, because of flow rate pressure and rpm. Like in frequency and valves opening and closing on A time scale. It would then follow that changing these things would change the RESONANCE (if you will) of the engine in various parameters , creating a change in the length of time different engine parameters are crating their resonance, so there is still some oil pressure when there did not used to be Before any Modification. Likewise there is more Vibration (gets non split bearings, hardened stainless inserts etc) when there didn't used to be, and in Extreme modification the entire power band is (usually) higher than Before any Modification. This is where Oil Catch becomes more important.

We've sold and installed hundreds of the Elite catch cans. Their product quality is excellent and we include it in all our Stage 1 packages.

Kind regards,

My Camaro sings the National anthem when I first start it up in the morning . It's kind of amazing to see all my Neighbors standing in their front yards in their underwear with their hand on their heart . Brings a tear to your eye .

Elite Eng CC for me .
