The protective film is transparent. You can only see the "clear" protective film (edges) at certain angles. Otherwise it looks just like a car without the clear protective film. Much like the lower picture in your post. It looks just like that.

Get rid of that ugly black bra! Get the XPel clear bra installed on all the danger areas, you won't be disappointed if installed by a professional and you would be hard pressed to even see it at all if installed correctly! Good luck.

The only reason I notice the edges is because I have the same areas covered on mine and I know where the edges are. Nobody else has ever noticed it without me pointing it out.

OP- Don't hesitate getting XPel Ultimate installed. The stuff isn't cheap, but we're rolling in $60K cars. What's another $1000 or so to protect them?

Best move I ever made was putting a clear bra on all my cars...had it on my 14 LS3 and now the same one on my 14 ZL1...will try to get a closer pic soon.

They are the best! You will talk to Larry (the owner) and he really knows what he is doing. If you look at their gallery you we will see some amazing cars. Anyone that is good enough for people to let them touch their Ferarri, Bentley, Aston Martin, Lambo or McLaren is good enough for me. You won't be disappointed.

Hello fellow Boise ZL1 owner.
I just bought a red 2015 ZL1 for my wife for Christmas and one of the first things I wanted to do was the clear bra. I ran into a problem when I pulled the front license plat holder off. The dealer (Dallas, TX) had taken like three tries to hang the bracket. It looked like swiss cheese.
Anyhow, I have since gotten the bumper repaired and painted, but I am letting it cure before I do the clear, as the off gasses can make it lift.

Transguard on Cole in Boise does the install. When I stopped in to take a look at the operation they had a brand new Corvette and a brand new Viper being done. The coating looks great when installed. It does have a little bit of a wave or orange peel look, but I am really critical of that look. Honestly it is smoother that most of the factory paint I have seen.

In short get it done, unless you point out where it is no one will know the difference.

Side note-The car is at JDP Motorsports in Sandy, UT right now getting some mods done. We will be picking it up tomorrow and heading for a track day at Miller. I am driving Friday and my wife is driving Saturday. (she still thinks it's her car )
I road raced motorcycles at Miller up until a couple years ago, so I am really looking forward to getting on track with a car! East track this weekend, one of my favorites on a bike!
