Just want to know I am the only one that thinks this way.

So the last 5 or 6 months I have been working towards a 5th gen SS. Got a good amount saved and since the 6th gen came out I figured the 5th gen price would drop. This would be my 3 car and 3rd Camaro.

What I am asking is what is the true value of a used SS auto or standard?

I feel like the 5th gen SS models are severely overpriced for a car that is 6 years old and now a generation oudated. I keep finding 2010-13 SS's listed around $24k and $25k for ones that have 30 or 40 thousand miles. I'm not willing to pay more than $20k even though the kbb values a 65k mile SS at $17,000.

Is it just me or are these dealers kind of overpricing the cars?

Im not interested in V6's because I live 10 minutes from the drag strip (Maple Grove Raceway) with intensions to participate in some passes and also plan on doing some autocross sessions with the local Corvette club. So the stiffer suspension and is a must. Just me though, I am not bashing or picking on the V6s.

Im with you. I had a dealer ask to buy my '14 and they had a "killer deal" on a new LT1. They offered me 15k for my '14.... Lol! My car hasn't hit 16k miles yet.

Checked on Car Gurus around your Zip code, seems its just in your area, Look at expanding your search radius and you find much better deals on an SS for less than 20k

Sounds like your dealer is a dumbass or your car is in bad shape lol..

I get offered $23-$26,000 for my 2013 2SS/RS with 36,7xx on the odometer.

Neither, just the standard dealer low-ball game.

Maybe they already know I'll just pull on away at the low-ball game.

Yeah i have been on there. Motortrend classifieds, Hemmings, Car.com, Car gurus you name it. I have been doing the 50 mile search radius. I might take a peek into NJ, MD, and NY to see what they have.

The price drop associated with a generational change is typically at the new car level. This is really more to do with the manufacturer offering incentives and rebates to move old inventories. New generation doesn't typically effect the used car market that much, at least from what I've seen.

When I was shopping for mine, I only saw a couple of SS' advertised under $20K, and both of them were over 70K miles and 1SS. That was over a year and half ago though. But the market where I live is pretty well saturated with Camaro's as well.

I would never buy a "muscle car" that had over 20K miles on it. Never. If fact, I am fortunate enough to be able to buy new only and that's all I'll do.

Haha, my limit is a lot more lenient I say 60k miles depending on the year and condition. Newer cars a so much more reliable than ever before. Then again I work only 3 miles from home, ride a mountain bike to work ,and never averaged more than 8,000 miles a year.

(not really Camaro related) I noticed a '10 Challenger RT it looked great then realized it had 147k miles. Thats over 25,000 miles a year. I kid you not. They were asking $16k for it. I took it out just for fun and it was responsive. No way I would go for something with that many miles on it. Someone drove the hell out of that one.

A dealer wants to buy (not trade) my car for $22,500 but I'm not selling it to him. That's probably a pretty generous offer on his part but he says the sports car market hit early with the mild winter and he can't keep them on the lot. What's that tell you? You will get a piece of shit SS for less than 20 grand.

BTW my car is a '12 LS3 1SS with 5000 miles.
