how much nitrous can forged ls3 416 handle

contemplating forging motor or building lsx, not sure which way to go, im at 13-14 psi currently on stock bottom end, with ported heads, ls9 cam, have arp 2000 head studs, manley stainless valves, ls9 head gaskets, I was thinking staying close to 125 shot, the lsx with heads I want and cam is out of my price range right now.

Exactly!

I'll add that boosting and nitrous is also going to be harder to keep the heads from lifting. Probably plenty of guys doing it on borrowed time without proper mods. If it were me, I would go no bigger than 416, move to six bolt block and heads, add ARP studs, and a high quality head gasket.

Then back to TUNE AND FUELING...

I have a 417 with a 200 shot, a friend of mine has one as well build by LME. He has been spraying weekly for 4 years or so and the only thing that has gone wrong is he broke a valve spring. He replaced with tooley springs and is still going strong. He has done a few 250 passes on 1/2 mile hitting 5th gear putting a big strain on the motor and no problems as of yet but its all in the tuning IMO.

Remember when adding nitrous to a supercharged car the shot is essential doubled. So, you're 125 shot will be like a 250 shot.

Does stroking a ls3 reduce the life of the motor with the longer stroke of the piston skirt??

Not quite to that extent but yes it does boost the nitrous hit by a significant amount.
