I to have a 07' C6 Corvette and a new SS Camaro. I think you'll like the SS better than the V6 in terms of power but it is not a Corvette. I was at first disappointed with my car but I realized it is a heavy car. It does not have the moves of my Vette, it is a Camaro and a muscle car. Drive it for what it is or stick with the Vette, thays just my 2 cents worth.

Why do you want to get another Car that you hate on so much?

If you can rent a SS (even if its auto) you may want to do it bro. We have had our share of differences but im just tryin to help you out. Even with the SS its still not going to handle like your EVO. It is a RWD car that is alot heavier! Two different worlds when it comes to handling..... it will take a little bit to get used to. Good luck!

You might have a problem, the Camaro is listed as being the 2nd hardest to find vehicle in America behind the Audi Q5 and tied with the Toyota Pious ... err ... Prius.

Anyway, there is an "MSRP or less" thread around that might help you. But it ain't gonna be quick.

Awesome, thanks.

Well the two things I hated most were the lack of power and the handling. Obviously the V8 will take care of the power and I was not aware that the SS has a better suspension which will improve the handling. I can get past the weight issues.

Calling some Avis locations in the morning. I was told they offer mini lease programs. Basically you rent the car on a 90 day basis and can keep doing that. Might be easier to get one that way than thru a dealer thats going to mark it up, if they even have them. I will get details tomorrow.

You can rent an SS for a day. It will be an auto, which is not really what you should buy but you can use it to get the feel for the handling.

Ever heard of "Rent-A-Center"??

It's basically the same concept and you would end up paying ALLOT more for the car that way from Avis.

But do rent one for a day and see if the SS is really what you want, you have already taken a beating in the pocket book once.

Love my V8 Camaro...but don't try to compare it to a Vette because you'll again be disappointed.

Honestly, with all of your negative commentary about Camaros on this site and the praising of other POS cars from Chrysler, and Nissan, you really don't deserve a Camaro. Go ahead and keep speaking highly of Vettes and criticizing the weight of Camaros in comparison. You really have no idea what you want or where your loyalties lie. Why even entertain the idea of getting another Camaro? I mean really..
