should I trade SS for ZL1
with all my mods I just dont know. 2012 ZL1 M6 with 1200 miles for $42500. I might break even what I owe with the SS. Id loose all those mods but a stock ZL1 is a better car. Or should I just wait and check out a 17 1le.

Keep in mind that the '16 SS is damn near out running a stock ZL1.

I have a feeling the new 1LE will be outrunning or perfectly matching a ZL1, WITHOUT a supercharger, throw one on and you'd definitely outrun one.

I was given the green light from my wife to pick either the Z/28 or the ZL1. As much as I respect both of those beasts, I just kept thinking.... 1, I am the original owner of my car. 2, with all the mods I dumped into my car I will never recover. So in the end I decided to keep my SS, I do regret not buying the other choices. But every time I start my car up, I forget all about the other cars.

Yes. Go for the ZL1. You'll love it when people stare in awe of your car, especially other Camaro owners. Of course coming from a guy with an RS, but that's just my opinion. Ya don't wanna regret anything do ya?

How is the Gen6 SS on par with a ZL1? Does 200 pounds really make that big of a difference to feel 85hp faster?

Granted this might just be marketing hype but, for what it's worth, GM is claiming that the 6th Gen V6 1LE puts down competitive times with the 5th Gen V8 1LE. There's almost 100hp between the two of them and a substantial amount of torque. Now, I know this isn't the comparison you're directly looking at but, I think if there's even a small amount of merit to GM's claim, that says quite a bit about what the 6th Gen is capable of.

ya isnt the stock gen6 SS close to the gen5 ZL1? $42k will buy a 2SS gen6 there's no way I could afford a gen6 ZL1. probably not even a 1LE.
