I own a 5th gen.....I won't be buying another camaro anytime soon. I took it out for a blast last weekend. ....still enjoy it as much today as when I first bought it. So im a 5th gen guy ..not a 6th gen. I'll stick with my 5th gen brothers that have given me some good advice. ....some bad advice and some just plain fd up advice.

I see way too many people on here saying the gen 6 sucks when in fact its better in most ways than the gen 5 and has been worked on for thousands of hours by the Chevy team.

It does not suck. I just don't like it the styling, nor do I care about tech gadgets. If they styled it differently and offered a stripper model without all the needless crap, I would consider one. I already have a really fast car and the new one is not improved enough to overcome the styling issues I have with it. Id rather push 700+ to the wheels than start over with a direct injected LT4 with a supercharger that is too small. In this case its cheaper to keep her.

I don't like Lamborghini either, respect the car, dislike the styling and ownership costs. However it does not suck.

All I have to say is that I've come to a good conclusion with camaro6 is the new euro styling may have attracted some of the stereotypical douche european import owners. No offense, but i love the new M4.

I have had mustangs and Camaro's, Mustang people are usually more friendly crossed over from generations. Camaro owners tend to be individualist and Camaro on Camaro violence is a norm.

I think a lot of it is gm marketing fault they should of stated how much better it was against the competition and not the previous generation. But if your talking about your own brand and customers who buy your brand atleast bring the facts, and not marketing B.S.

It is one thing to say its lighter and more power. But don't start listing all the faults wrong and say the G6 is better in all ways. Its not

Look at the basics look at a G5 NPP design to the 6th NPP. The G5 is individual mufflers just like the Z06 or any performance muffler on the market. Then look at the G6 its a big box resonator with two 90 degree turns which does not scream flow. I bet 10:1 the old NPP out flows the new NPP.

people are for some reason are defensive about new models and updates. i don't know how many people around here have owned multiple generations, but i've always been excited to see the Camaro evolve. It's not just here, i see it in the facebook groups and chevrolet pages. Every time a new Camaro is posted some guy posts his Camaro and says "i'll be keeping mine !"

Like the sound of deja vu reading all this and although i get it, you get the same animosity with some people when you get the "oh you drive a v6 comments from the few snobby v8 guys." Camaro is a Camaro i love my 5th Gen and i really want the new ZL1 that being said GM needs to figure out their pricing they're pushing more and more of their customer base away with the slightly insane pricing. Part of that is cost saving on their part as they've done away with the trim models that allowed some to get into a 5th Gen hopefully as sales come out they adjust.

Wow, $80G is a lot of money. At that point you're probably well into new 'vette or Mercedes S-Class territory. But then again, people buy houses with 6 bathrooms too. I'm not one of them.

Well said, Evil-Bee! This used to be a car that, even when well equipped, the average working person could afford. My vert's replacement value is at least $7k more than when I bought it - lucky I got in 5 years ago, becasue I'd never spend that much today.

Gen 6 is more for people who gravitate to European cars and their styling. Not muscle cars. That's the reason for the divide. Boxers vs Bikini Briefs.

I go check out the dark side and even post there. I am a GM guy and mainly a camaro enthusiast. My big complaint is that they are pricing the new car out of reach for the common person. The new zl1 has gotten me interested in a new camaro if they don't price it out of reason. I don't think any of us would shun a 1st gen owner, so why is there a riff between 6th and 5th?
