way i see it you tried your best to buy, seems the dealers failed, your the customer why should you be made to feel like you have to do what the dealer says this is the lesson GM and mostly the dealers need to learn.they are replaceable, too bad really, the cars are out there too just dealers being greedy, good luck to you on your purchase i think you will enjoy it

I'm going to play devils advocate on this one, if you would have been happy paying MSRP for the camaro than you would be driving a camaro instead of the Z. I think the dealer thought about it and said why should we give him supplier cost when people are happy paying MSRP or more. I don't understand why you wouldn't go back to the dealer that you bought the vette from. It shows dealer loyal ship etc, unless they thought you where price gouging. I'm just looking at the other side of the coin, I'm not trying to offend you!!

The time will go by and you will be driving a substitute. Anything worth having is worth waiting for. I ordered my SS on 10/13/08 and waited until 5/20/09 for it. At times I felt like giving up. I priced the CHallenger SRT8, test drove the Mustang GT and was ready to buy a 2007 Vette with 4,900 miles on it for the same money as my SS. I am so happy that I waited for my Camaro. I would be getting a sinking feeling every time that one passed me if I did no wait. Good luck with your import. I understand your frustration.

What's the ratio of bad GM dealers to good? 100-1?! These guys come in two flavors
1. Jerks
2. Morons

I went back to the dealer I bought the vette from...and I had bought my trailblazer SS there also...this would have been car number 3 in 3.5 years. They are the ones that held my check for nearly a month.

As far as driving the camaro vs. the z...I'm happy with the z. It never was "I've got to have the Camaro"...it was "I want the Camaro." I've never paid MSRP or above for a car to this point in my life...so why start now? The Camaro will be around in a couple of years and the hype will have worn off, so pricing will be back to reasonable levels.

You didn't offend me, I'm happy to talk about my decision. The two dealers out of state that offered to work with me were great and were at supplier pricing. I just decided that I shouldn't have to go out of state to buy a car from General Motors.

For all you dealer out there... If you don't have your S#!t together not only are you loosing customers, but your sending them to other manufacturers... Not good for GM...

You should have to pass a test to sell cars IMO. If you can't prove that you know the process/products then you can sell this month...

I'm just wondering why so many people with Vette's crave the Camaro or another "fun" car. Does the Vette not already scratch that itch?

LOL...had to have something cheap, good commuter (driving 100+ miles a day) and with good resale...drove it for 6 months until I turned 25 and bought my first Corvette. I only lost a couple of grand on the deal. It was worth it though...made me love my vette even more!
