Question Nitrous. Yes or No

I'm thinking to do nitrous but I don't wanna to blow my car up. It's a DD so far I have headers, gpi vvt cam , air intake, Corsa cat back , catless, ported intake manifold and dyno and street tune. Btw I'm thinking about the zex kit 150 shot I just wanna be fast as hellcat.

Do it. Get a standaone fuel cell for the 150 shot though. It will keep you from dropping fuel pressure.

Do it. If you do it right it won't blow up, simple as that. The overwhelming majority of engines that blow up on nitrous is a result of user error (cutting corners on set up, not spraying at correct bottle pressure, spraying too big of a shot, ect. ect.) or tuner error. You will need a standalone fuel system to do a 150 shot.

If your seriously considering a nitrous (like i was) i would really take a look and call Nitrous Outlet, they have a really nice setup for the 5th gen and now they have a custom wiring harness that will cut your install time down and do away with all the confusing bundle of wires, for an added cost of course-lol

I don't know why everyone says you need a standalone, I get it for a wet system but not for a dry. On a dry 150 shot with a TSP 231/236 cam and PRC 255 heads I hit 560/560 on a stingy mustang dyno.

Those results are nothing to brag about, stingy dyno or not.

The majority of people use wet shots so thats why a standalone is considered a given as it's typically assumed that a wet kit is being discussed.

Dry shots are simply harder to tune and not as safe.

Maybe someday I will have a car with numbers you approve of since you want to be a douche. I agree dry shots suck, I actually dislike Nitrous in general was my first go at it and not very happy with it myself hence the ERL 427 / procharger / and E-85 conversion currently under way.

Reading it again that honestly sounded meaner than I intended, my bad. You were making a case for something and then finished it off by bringing up sub par dyno results and it just didn't make sense to me. But at the end of the day dyno numbers are overrated anyways. It's all about ETs and trap speeds. If I had to choose between boost and nitrous and money wasn't an issue I'd go boost. But the obvious best route to go is to use both haha
