Swapping factory HIDS for LEDS

Like the title says...

Has anyone figured out how to replace the stock HIDS with Leds that produce the same light output?

I love the look of LEDs when the are coming at you down the road, I sometimes can't tell the difference between HIDS and halogen ones!

Are you talking about headights or halo rings? I haven't seen an LED kid for a RS Camaro so I am assuming you want LED headlights for a non-RS? In my experience there is a significant difference between HIDs and halogen bulbs, HIDs are much brighter than regular bulbs.

Unclear what you mean by HIDs being same as halogen bulbs. I get high beamed all the time by oncoming cars thinking I have my high beams on. when I high beam them back, they totally go blind. Are you sure you have the actual HIDs and halos?

I should have clarified, I have a RS camaro and I was to swap the yellowish 4300k hid bulb for a led bulb!

4300k hid bulbs look so yellow to me while the led looks white/blue

Okay makes sense now. Well HID kits come in different colors varying from 3K-15K. In your case if you're looking for something bright white you can either get a 5000k (bright white) or 6000k (cool white/blue tint) kit and those should be more or less the color you want them. I don't think they have LED bulb kits for RS models, so you're best bet is upgrading to a higher temperature.

The Philips Ultinon (6000k) or Osram CBI (5000k) should give you what you're looking for. I have yet to see an LED bulb designed to replace a D based bulb like OEM.

Stick with the HID lights. I put the LED in mine and it's just not bright enough. LED technology is still new, so it might take some time before they get as good as HID lights.

The LED bulbs work great in the RS Daytime Running (Fog light) areas and you can match them to your HID RS bulbs up top. I found the 11 watt LED PSX26W in the fog light of 2012 to work well. The 7 watt LED was a bit dim and color was off.
Couple it with the DRL Wiring Harness and you're set.

Cheap Chinese knock-offs and out of stock anyway.

I have found 6000K to be too much blue. The Genuine OSRAM/SYLVANIA zXe's I linked to have a really nice, pure white light and should last minimum of 5 years. Excellent quality.

JMHO as always.

I got 5500k HIDS from the retrofit source! They are perfect! I had someone drive my car towards me at night and it looked great!

I had no idea those were Chinese knock offs. I'll look into the Sylvania you linked to.
