The 1LE is not going to be a good daily driver in Buffalo , so that is not an option . Every parent wants to do the best for their kids ,and that is a decision only you can make.

With the high price of getting a bachelors degree these days and the very shaky prospect of actually getting a job when you graduate, your kids might be better off exploring the trades. For example, if one of them is technology inclined, CNC machinists are in high demand and require some intellect. Watch this interview with Mike Roe, host of Dirty Jobs, on what is wrong with everyone getting a 4 year degree. Myself, I have a 2 year degree in Electronics Technology. I am now Director of Technology for a major financial services company. I'm a perfect example of what Mike is talking about.

Well... I say make the kids pay their own way. People I knew in college whose parents paid for it failed out because there was no reason to try. I paid my own way and worked my ass off to graduate and worked even harder to graduate grad school because I knew I was paying.
I might have monthly student loan payments now that make most peoples mortgage payment look like a netflix bill but I'm still making great money and living well.
Time to let them learn

How old are your kids?

Mine are 6 and soon to be 4. I put money away in a 529 plan each year for them. Will it be enough? Doubt it but it's better than nothing. Still hoping my son develops in a superstar athlete (basketball or baseball). He does have being left handed going for him

Some companies will pay for tuition as long as it focuses on the career path that is relevant to the business. I did this when I was in college and they paid a huge check of my tuition. The rest I paid myself, I did not get 1 cent from my parents. I bought my OWN first new car when I was 25 and I was still not done with college then. I have a Bachelor's degree in IT completed in 2003. I'm now 40.

This is a good idea, however, when they get older transfer the money to another family member you trust outside of your direct family (aka grandparent) this way it cant be used as an asset against you during the fasfa application.

I drove mine last winter, but I also got it december 30th. I will drive it another winter to avoid the extra cost of another vehicle right now.

You can get a 4th gen f-body or other older car and make it fast as shit for less money than your 1LE costed. You can still have fun on a smaller budget if you decided to sell it. I don't think you should sell it though.
