Heat exchanger/catch can?
Is a heat exchanger and catch can necessary or just wanted? The heat exchanger I can see more then the catch can. It's a silly question it its the first time getting into these power ranges where these things now come into play.

Anything you can do to keep the car running cooler (especially the supercharger) is a good thing. I have a catch can, but it isn't necessarily needed. More of a preventative maintenance thing.

Both are a good idea.
The catch can is augured back and forth but it helps keep the oil blow by from creating deposits on your cylinder heads and intake. You can find 10,000 topics on C5 about it. The HX does help as I have both the RD HX and D3 extra coolant tank and I track my car.
