Zl1 Tires

I'm about to buy a 2015 zl1 from a ford dealer, some jack@ss must've traded it in for a mustang or a ford truck. The tires are bald, so it's not a great indicator, but i don't have much of a choice. Everything else looks perfect, its got 7k miles. I need new tires. Now, i've been thinking about all season just for the hell of it because i'm from New York so it's always cold here, but when it comes down to it, i'm probably buying a beater truck for the winter. So should i go with max performance summer tires? or should i really look into all season that have good performance in the summer as well and can handle the low NY temperatures? I've been looking around and I've looked at BfGoodrich G-force and i've looked at others that aren't coming to mind right now. List me some ideas and if you have an explanation that'd be great. Thank you.

You have a few options you can do

1. Factory sizes

285/35/20 & 305/35/20

Goodyear Eagle F! Supercar G2 ( factory tires)

Their sticky but they dont last long and def not the greatest when cold or when its wet.

Pirelli P Zero

285/35/20 & 305/35/20

Pricey as shit not my personal favorite but good in rain and dry

BFG G Force Comp 2 A/S

285/35/20 & 305/35/20

I love these badboys their great, good in rain, dry and even a tad of snow if you want

2. Upgraded sizes

275/40/20 & 315/35/20

NItto Invo

I love them personally

Conti DW or DWS

275/40/20 & 315/35/20

Great all performance wet & dry summer performance tires, and the DWS is a max performance all season tire

Thanks bud, i'll take a look into all of those. I'm still not sure if i want summer tires or all season. Especially because it'll be my DD until next winter but, still.

The factory Goodyear f1 G2's are great for tracking but the life expectancy on the street depends on how hard you use the go pedal. I use these as my track tires mounted on a second set of factory wheels.

I have a set of Micheline Pilot Super Sports in the 295/315 size for everyday street use and I have tried them on track but I prefer the goodyears for that purpose. The MSS wear a lot better and they will last you a lot longer than the goodyears but they drive much better in the rain and cooler temps plus they are quieter than the factory tires.

I am from NY also and have the goodyears.
I don't drive the car in the winter at all but in the spring and fall when temps
Get around 50 or below those tires will slip and slide a little especially in situations
Like pulling out of side streets.
One other thing to keep in mind is that they claim these tires should not be stored in cold temps so it is not only about when you drive on them.

Thanks guys, i'm still not too sure what i'm going to do but i might look into the BF Goodrich G-force, or the Micheline Super Sports. I really want summer tires but it's not feasible in New York.
