Have read the entire thread, and the logic seems clear that a catch can is a good plan.
I did come across a comment in an other thread that I thought I would ask about here:

"Be careful with the catch can idea...you actually do need oil vapors to hit the back of the valves. Catch cans and scrapers can rob the vapors that are needed for normal operation."

Would anyone care to comment on this?
Thanks,

This thread is about catch cans in general, not just ours.

My Apex one was about half full after about 600 miles. Glad that didn't make it into the engine!

It feels good to see it in the can and know it didn't end up making a mess.

I purchased the apex catch can last year and like what it's doing, but I have one question. Does it need an "O" ring between the two halves? Feels like this would make it easier to unscrew and seal better
If so can you recommend size and type of ring,ie,Viton or butyl?

An O-ring is not needed. The engineer that designed our can came from a major defense contractor and was designed and machined with a mechanical seal similar to what is used on nuclear submarines parts. As soon as it stops screwing down it has a seal that will withstand far more pressure that it will ever be exposed to. As soon as it stops turning it is as tight as it needs to be, no need to over tighten. We have sealed up our can and pumped it up to 80psi with no leak down.

Good to know. Never had an issue, just checking. Quality build all around except for the mounting bolts to the can. No big deal, but starting to rust. I will take them off and paint them.

Thank you. We have actually changed those out now due to that.

Bringing back an old thread from the dead here.

What is a) the best performing catch can and b)
the routing of the lines for the can?

I am looking to setup a catch can system on an ls3 with a agp twin turbo kit.

What became of the Apex catch can? It looks like the APX9001 is no longer available?

I went to the Apex website to buy an Apex catch can but I can only find the Rx can?

Most likely is was not as profitable as selling the Rx can so they stopped production

That could be one reason, but there are probably several reasons.

Welp looks like I have a dealership trying to blame a sudden loss of oil pressure on my Elite Catch Can.
