2009 base C6 vs 2010 Camaro SS...

If you have never owned a Vette, at least once in your life, you must. Nothing like them. Also, there is no such thing as a 'base Vette'. They are Vettes...period. The so called 'base vette' has more on it than most loaded cars, including our beloved Camaro. And no, I do not own a 'base Vette Convertilbe', it is a Corvette Convertible with every available factory option but a Vette just as is a coupe with no options.

Sorry, but can't believe how some posters seem to try to put down the Vette if it is simply a coupe. They are all extremely nice and superior in nearly everyway to our beloved Camaro. Is the Vette the best thing since sliced bread? NO. But it is the best performance bargin out there in my opinion.

Anyway .. I think the OP was meaning that the BASE price of the vette is only a little higher than a decked out 2SS / RS ..

IF I could own a 2 seater, there would be a vette in my garage instead of the camaro ..

Me thinks this thread is a plant by 'Vette owners who see the Camaro as stealing their thunder lately, and have to hammer it home that the Vette is still King. Owned several in my lifetime, but I am still happier with my Camaro purchase Pound for Pound, $ for $, of any vehicle I've ever owned


And yes there is such a thing as a base 'Vette coupe, and dealers are discounting them to get rid of them (small brakes and all). Anyone priced a 3LT or Z51 lately with all the trimmings? A convertible with power roof? These are 60k plus cars MSRP and certainly not being fire saled at anywhere near SS territory, and they certainly are not twice the car the Camaro is. Only the Z06 is........period

Not many 2009 Corvettes laying around this neck of the woods, other than the automatic sissy mobiles. One optioned out would be a 2010, and Chevy keeps jacking up MSRP.

Same here, I've owned 4 Corvettes of all vintages and the Camaro was the first car in over 30 years that made me actually look forward to pulling my wallet out.....your mileage may vary

For all you C6 and C5 guys, you do have a hell of a car, but stop the superiority stuff, this is a Camaro site after all, its not twice the car the Camaro is, any more than the Camaro is twice the car a Mustang is. ANY performance car we are allowed to own and enjoy in this day and age is a blessing. We are all very fortunate brethren here

As for your theory of me being some vette owner sent here to rub your nose in the the corvettes burnt rubber debris...

I have ordered a Camaro, it was built 9/9 and is currently being shipped to my dealer...I am honestly trying to make a decision and instead of actual help I get a conspiracy theory...thx a lot.
