When I repair wiring and have had the wire loom crumble from heat I install new wire loom. It's the ribbed protection around the bundle of wires. It can be purchased online or at your local automotive store. Cover any sections you think may come into contact with other components. It's cheap and it adds a bit more protection from physical contact. It also looks alot cleaner than wires run amok. As far as stock goes, if there is electrical tape over the end of the loom it's most likely factory and not a removal of loom.

JerTM, thanks for all the help. I appreciate it.

Many parts of the harness looked unkept with slit open sections, bandages here, aluminum wrap there, and electrical tape everywhere. I thought the previous owner did some serious repairs on the harness. Today I was able to get a look at a brand new 2016 Camaro V6 harness that we got taken off. And my gosh, it had the same things!

What I thought was random DIY fixes from the previous owner turned out to be factory. Just something Interesting I had figured out.

Are there any resources you can share as to how you were able to figure out what fuses directly connected with what or the exact labels/parts around the engine compartment?

Google has not turned up any helpful/detailed fuse schematics and the Camaro Parts List doesn't have some of the critical parts featured or doesn't have them in a high-enough res picture for identification matching. I've tried using the online 3rd party GM Part factories that allow you to search for the part you want with their diagrams but those don't have detailed photos or diagrams either.

I can probably get my hands on the GM documents for the 2016 V6 Camaro we have but it's enough of a difference (and engine) that I don't think it would be overly helpful.

I am a GM tech, I got the info directly from GM's Service Information. Alldata will have the same diagrams but you will have to pay for a subscription. I am going to see if I can email some SI documents to a friend of mine, if that works I can email some to you. The 16 Camaro might as well be a mustang as far as wiring is concerned, I doubt it shares much at all.

My group has an agreement with GM on the 16 V6 Camaro docs but like you said, the changes make it hard to compare.

Im having this same problem with the exact same CEL codes. I looked everywhere and couldnt find a melted wire or short :( PLease help!!

I could not find definite answer to the very first question (what is the exact name of the hose highlighted in blue on the first pic), so for anyone wondering, it's the vapor canister purge valve hose, part 12607115.

This helped me so much. I see the op has not been online since 2017.
Still this could help alot more people. I was kind of confused when both 02 sensors and the evap got codes.
