That was a great post. Congrats on the speed.
I'm going to a 1/2 and 3/4 mile runway race next month. Question about all the tape on the front end. Is it for aero? Or to keep the front bumper from blowing off? Or a little of both? And, what tires are you using and sizes? Looks like 20" in front with 18" out back?

The trick is to limit what gets under the hood and give it an escape path. To do this, tape the front end and then remove the weather stripping at the top of the firewall where the back of the hood seals against it. It's easily reinstalled. They put it there so nasty stuff that gets under the hood doesn't end up on the windshield. Lastly, it keeps the plastic fascia from blowing off as happened to a Lingenfelter car at 170 ish mph.
