I had just bought my ZL1 and was tickled pink. I told a buddy (well, I thought he was a friend anyway) about it and his a$$hole response was "yeah, but its still just a Chevy." WTF? It would be one thing if he was a Ferrari guy or even a Bimmer guy, but what does this guy drive? A Dodge Journey or some crap like that.

It sucks that we have people who are snobbish like that. Like how mustang guys hate camaro guys and vice versa. I like the mustang too, if I had the coin I'd buy both!

Meanwhile I think we all agree that we hate the rice burners...just kidding.....or am I..... :-)

I think that's the most common misconception I run into. People think that because I own a Camaro, I must hate Mustangs with a passion. I love American Muscle.

In my family, I have a brother who is a 'Ford guy', a brother-in-law who's a 'Dodge guy' (my sister prefers Chevys) and another brother who's like me, a 'Chevy guy'. We are constantly giving each other a bad time, but it's all in fun. When it comes down to it, we're all into American Muscle; they all admire my Corvettes & Camaros and I wouldn't kick any of their Mustangs or Challengers to the curb.

This is the kind of stuff I hear almost everyday by people with slower cars. I tell them that for me it means more because my first car was a Camaro and thats another reason I chose it.

How about simply saying, "I bought it because it appealed to ME. I like the way it looks, the power that it has, and the way it makes me feel when I'm driving it. I'm sure you bought your car because it made you feel the same way." That should shut most people up.
