It does matter, there is a lot of possible false info being put out here. There is a big difference between a 1/10th of a mile and a full mile. And just starting the car for 5 seconds to let the dials index will not hurt it.

Really? Lets not be anti-capitalist here. Her bonus/compensation has ZERO to do with a warranty denial. I tend to think it was denied more due to Obamacare

Enough of the political distractions

No it does not. If your willing to start up an engine with known low or no oil pressure you are assuming the risk of the damage. Either tear down the motor, or remove the plugs and disable the fuel/ignition and use the starter to bump rotate it a few times with a manual gage installed. If you want to run your engine with no pressure thats cool, but if my dealer ran mine and pulled this crap with me, they decded to run the engine, they just bought the engine.

That is precisely how I see it too. If you ran my engine at all without oil pressure especially knowing that is why the car was brought in you would be fixing my car and not GM.

I would be going after the dealer right now if I were the OP all the while trying to get my warranty restored with GM.

Some very telling things from the OP's extensive write-up on this:

1. “no oil pressure shut down engine” was displayed upon starting the engine.
2. He "checked the oil level and it was full"

This leaves a few obvious possibilities:

1. Oil pump failure.
2. Oil pressure sensor failure.
3. Massive internal oil leak.
4. Total obstruction in the lubrication system before the pressure sender.

IMHO:

None of the above scenarios could be caused by a catch can.
Even a gross leak or blockage in the PCV system would not produce any of these results.

Good luck to the OP.

I considered removing the can, deleting it from my sig both here and at SSforums.com, but have decided against it. I'll not be intimidated by strong arm tactics no matter the cost. GM is obviously making a big mistake, not only technically but business wise as well. This isn't good business, and with Mustangs and Challengers out there this will make some people second guess the Camaro and GM as a whole. I would have considered(OK not really) the Charger deer scat if it had three pedals, but it didn't. I'm glad because I love my car, but many people aren't brand loyal and things like this will have people jumping ship. I do hope that for the OP and for all the rest of us running catch cans that this is handled correctly by GM in the long run, it is up to all of us to keep the pressure on.
As for the dealership running the car for 1/10th or one mile or one minute, this is why I have a dashcam that never shuts off. It is my proverbial fly on the wall. From accidents to oil changes, it is an invaluable tool that lands documented proof in your corner every time. If the OP had video of the dealership driving his car with a known oil pressure issue resulting in whatever issues now exist, and GM was aware of this video, one has to wonder if the tune being sung would have a sweeter melody. If you don't have a dashcam, get one. They are cheap insurance against unscrupulous drivers and dealerships.
We are pulling for you Superman09.

My apologies for not updating y'all. I was up for ~40 hours straight from Sunday through Monday evening. I have been contacted by someone from GM and the situation is being investigated. I can't go into it much more than that other than to say a HUGE thank you to everyone in here for signing the petition and for the support and encouragement. Still don't have an answer but apparently we have been heard. Keep pushing the petition and I will update again when I can.

Now that is a bit extreme. I'd rather burn my Camaro than buy Kia.
