Android Auto in the mylink system
So I bought my wife a 2016 Chevy colorado. it has both apple carplay and android auto. Now I'm kind of jealous. I have a 2010 Camaro with the crappy stereo. I was planning on upgrading it anyway. I know there are a couple of aftermarket faceplates and you can put any stereo in there. But I really like the look of the mylink system.
So does anyone have android auto in there Camaro? And do they have it with the mylink? Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk |

I asked Chevy about plans to update older models with Mylink to support CarPlay and was told it wasn't going to happen. I'd expect the answer is the same for Android Auto. I gave up and went aftermarket.

I did some research on exactly this when I was preparing to update my 2011 to a mylink system. Best I could find out, the pre-2016 mylink system is lacking some hardware that's necessary for CarPlay or Android Auto to function. What that hardware is, I don't know. But in general, the only way to get CP/AA in-dash is to go aftermarket (and you'll save a chunk of money, too.) I really wanted AA support, but in the end, the factory look-n-feel was more important to me.
