The sides by the bumpers are bolted, while the other halves are glued. The idea is that you can unbolt and remove your bumper when necessary. It's honestly not the best design, which made bumper removals less fun for sure : )

I'm honestly not sure at this point. I'm currently only offloading my spares (besides StopTechs), and will decide this week.

Since my brother bought a leftover Viper GTS a few months ago, there has suddenly been a huge arms race among our friends, here. In response, another friend of mine got a used C6 GS (in addition to his Lotus Elise) and will install Moton coilovers on it, and I am seriously thinking about getting a base C7 Z51 1LT (no MagnaRide), and upgrade it with GM's T1 race suspension, Z06 front brakes/fan/aux radiator, shod it with 275/325 NT01s and join the arms race.

Actually, I almost bought zfatuated's Z/28 yesterday, and decided not to get it in the last minute. Decisions, decisions.. : )

Ha, there's actually a race in the opposite direction around here. There are a few guys who go to the track, and only two of them are in an arms race really. However, it seems like everyone, them included, is getting an NA or NB Miata to autocross. It's making me a bit jealous.

Autocross is a different animal, and yes, it's the opposite direction : ) I do have an NC Miata, and I am actually working on it, too; it's currently in Texas, at a specialist shop going through a heart surgery. When done, it will have a 2.5 liter high compression engine with cams, and will hopefully be pushing about 220 whp (on 2500 lbs car) naturally aspirated! I hope to get my car back in about a week; I can't wait.

Was the supercharger causing you problems?

I'm secretly hoping you get a new car so I'll have a new build thread to read!

Are you going to part out your diff and the supporting cooler?

Haha, yes, I will have a new build thread : )

I worked very hard on making the supercharger reliable, but it's very hard to trust a system that makes peak boost at redline, meaning it puts even more strain even as we go further away from volumetric efficiency range. I think it's perfect for the street, but for track, I want something I can bang the redline with good conscious. The engine builder said he should get it dynoed today or tomorrow; looking forward to it!

Regarding the diff and cooler, there are quite a few parts, some lines are too long to ship, etc., so I intend to just leave it on the car. If someone was local, I would consider doing a swap, spending a long night at the garage, but there's probably no such person interested.

I already started the planning for C7 Z51
Which C7 model to choose:
http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...rack-duty.html

Cheap C7 Z06 BBK from Amazon (Dropspeed's thread's C7 version. I referenced his thread, too):
http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...1150-pads.html

The current list of changes in mind:
  • No cheap wheels available, so will have to go aftermarket forged. They will be light! CCW TS12 18x10 / 19x11 wheels with 275/35/18, 305/30/19 Nitto NT01s
  • C7 Z06 brakes, grille, aux cooler, side top scoops, radiator fan
  • APR Track attack aero kit
  • Vetteworks harness bar
  • Competition seat conversion (not sure; cost is a bit steep at $1700)

ill definitely be following your build!

my little brother has a Z51 stingray, so i'll follow your future build vicariously.

btw if you part out your 1le, please let us know! there's a thing or two i'd definitely be interested in like the z/28 seat.

Glad you asked, the seat is actually available! It is the full-powered SS logo version which provides a bit more headroom than the manual Z/28 version. One caveat is that it might take a while (a week or two) before I can ship it. Feel free to PM me if you're interested.

I will also have the harness bar available; I was planning to post them when I can have time to get them off the car (hence that 1-2 weeks caveat).

I'd wait for the C7 Grand Sport to hit. That's the Vette version of a 1LE. It has the looks and a hell of a suspension and brake package and you can make the motor what you want...

Think TT...

Before I bought my C7 I considered mag ride, I loved it on my ZL1. Ultimately I opted to go with no mag ride so I can eventually go with LG Coilovers.

X, I'll be interested to see your report on the T1 suspension. I haven't read anyones feedback on it other than one article from (I think) GM Authority.

Side note, neither CorvetteForum nor Corvette7 have a build thread section. I was going to start documenting my build but I guess not
