Worth asking for it. I did not even know that this form/option ever existed with the insurance companies. Guess if you don't know about it you can't ask for it!

I knew about it and then after doing some research it seems like there have been mixed results. I mentioned it to Geico at the time of the accident and never really got a straight answer.

I think I need to have the salesman who sold me the car give me a trade in value with and without the accident on carfax.

Dang OP that sucks Wish they would have totaled it so you could get yourself a 6th gen but hopefully they will get it all handled and fixed for you.

As far as old driver/teen driver like most have already stated you can't reteach someone in their 80's but you can help and educate the teen drivers. My grandfather, who is 84, moved from New Jersey to Utah and it was like a whole new world to him. Our roads are very confusing out here and after hitting 3 poles my mother had to take the keys away. Yes its hard to do but it is necessary to do.

Also it's not only teens who get distracted by their phones. Don't think you 30-40 year old are innocent in this. Most times I look over at some for driving slow they are soccer moms or business men an their way to work, just saying.

Glad there weren't any employees or customers in the path.

This thread reminds me of the Santa Monica Farmers' Market crash.
