They are hassling everyone. After months and months of ignoring their mailers, they quit mailers and started auto-calling. That lasted for 3-4 calls and haven't received any hassles for a couple of months now.

I want them to show me how I can possibly turn the ignition off with my knee, I'm 6'2". To get in my car comfortably the seat is all the way back and all the way down.

Absolutely impossible for me to turn the ignition off with my knee unless I contort my body in a position I would never be in while driving. And even then it's still very difficult to do, I've tried it while it was running parked.

This recall came because they had issues with another model (Cruze I think).

You all must never saw that now once a safety recall is issued the GOVERNMENT is now requiring manufacturers to get all Safety related recalls done to EVERY CAR THEY CAN FIND THE CURRENT OWNER. This is not someting GM wants to do it's what they HAVE to do or face more fines.

What kills me is the extended warranty people that still call me relentlessly... At first I would mention I wasn't interested and would hang up... Then I would stay on line long enough to tell them to remove me from their records data base... Then I would ask to speak to a supervisor, and ask why they keep calling... Remove me isn't plain enough..???

Now, I let them go through their entire spiel, interrupting occasionally to ask questions that take extensive time to explain, which of course lead to follow on questions... and then let them list all of their options... which of course, leads to more questions, like, if my backup camera quit working will that be covered in option A, or B, etc... after they look into option options, I then state well I don't have a backup camera... Now, bare in mind they have called me repeatedly and I asked to be removed from their data base...
So, then I ask if modifications are covered,
I usually get the "no, modifications are not covered"...
So, the pedal covers I put on the brake, clutch, and throttle are not covered... "No"
ok, well I don't think they'll break anyway... How about the rear seat belt retractor....
clicks on the keyboard, and "well maybe... possibly...
" yes or no? its a simple response, yes or no..."
Then I ask if the halo is covered on my cage...
"Uhh... what's that?" clicking in the background...
You know, the roll cage...
"Is that factory item"
No,
"Then it's not covered"
Oh, what about the turbo's?
"Are they factory installed?"
IDK, they are in there...
Clicking in the background...
"What year did you say your car was?"
I didn't but you told me this was for my 2010 Camaro when you called...
"I don't show.... "
Darn, I thought we were getting somewhere...
"Sir, we don't cover modifications"
Exactly my point, my car has a 417 cubic inch aftermarket engine making over 2000 HP, a quad disc clutch, a modified transmission, a nine inch aftermarket diff, axles, engine management system, radiator, roll cage, race seat, five point harness, etc... What will you cover...
"Uh, nothing, I'll remove you from the system...
Thanks, buh bye....

Yes I'm a butthead about it but that particular data base is notated...

However, I got one of them so bad he had me hold and transferred me to a manager... He still tried to sell me a policy... I sent him a link to an article about my car while we were talking and he said... UH...wow, ok never mind...
will it cover holes in the headliner from hookers.

no you do not have to get the recall done. this is a voluntary recall not mandatory. even if they passed a law saying that all safety recalls must be done on every car. It was not a law when the recall was started. It is still up to the owner to get the recall done. Now if you dont get it done and did manage to bump the key and turn it off then panicked and drove it into something. Then some one could use that in court if they sued you but thats about it.

Not one of my vehicle keys has anything else on them.
how did you do that?

I didnt say you had to get it done, i was giving you the reason why GM is bombarding people with recall crap. The government is overstepping its bounds and holding the car companies responsible. That is why GM is pushing so hard. Do you really think if it was up to them they would spend so much time and money trying to get everyone to get the recall done? No they wouldn't, that is why they first offered the waiver then recended them. It's out of their control now.

some people have gotten away with having 1 key done. Say you lost a key. they will hack your 1 fob up and the recall will be labeled as done.

this dealer http://www.jeffsmithchevrolet.com/ refuses to to work on my car unless I get the key changed. I already signed the release, he told me it didn't matter because they would get fined $10,000. for doing work without the recall being done. Now i have to drive 30 miles 1 way to get my car serviced (still under warranty).
