One question: "who are you trying to impress"?

Final question: "why do people do this"?

I just saw the handicap sign on the front of his vehicle and am wondering if he's a Veteran? He looked to be younger as he drove by! Give this guy some respect! He was only trying to have fun and made a mistake in the process (like we all do).

SORRY, BUT I'D RATHER SEE THOSE IDIOTS FROM OAKLAND (OAKLAND SIDE SHOWS) crashing their "STOLEN CAMARO ENGINES" that are constantly being discussed in the C5 forums then THIS GUY who looks like he might be a VETERAN who served his country and PAID WITH HIS HARD EARNED MONEY for this car.

Good people always get the shaft while bad people always make it out on top for some reason! Who wants to bet he was a Veteran who is only trying to have fun in his life after serving his country? If he is a Veteran (which at this point I'll assume), Thank YOU Sir for Serving!

When I see a >suit< drive by in a stock Ferrari, I just roll my eyes and look away knowing this guy is just driving for nothing but looks and has no real love for cars (sorry, just how I feel and yes this may be a narrow-minded comment).

When I see a guy in a 1st Generation Camaro souped up like this, I KNOW DAMN WELL he's a car guy and I have respect for this. I see this type of mentality here in the Bay Area all the time with the high-end Supercars...."BUILT NOT BOUGHT", remember that.
I like you do not look down as hard on the first gen as some here have. I get there perspective, but as the owner of more than one dumb move behind the wheel of a car, it would kind of be a do as I say, not as I have done (and may still do again) type scenario. Where I don't agree is in your assessment of Ferrari guy. Just because he drives a stock Ferrari does not automatically make him a non-car guy, and just because first gen man drives a hopped up gen one does not mean he did any of that work. People sell those cars all the time, and someone buys it. Ferrari man may be just as much a car guy as anyone else, he just happens to be very good at something that allows him to have a little pricier toy than my gen one or my gen five......combined!

I'm not going to be so quick as to call this guy an ass like many have stated here. The road was wide open and he made an error. What no one has mentioned are the people all lined up on the right side of the video with their cameras out-----those same people who line up to "cheer" on these cars to burn out as they leave an event. Everyone at these shows that I have seen always gives the "crowd" a little burst of power as they exit. Yes, this guy went too fast and lost control, but what these events need to do is get the crowd away from the exits where people are just waiting to compel the driver to punch it. Human nature being what it is, many of us are just dying to show off our cars. C'mon, be honest. "Most" Camaro owners are not going to drive like Grandma on a Sunday afternoon. Tell me that you have NEVER punched your Camaro at a light on an open feeder or country road. What's that old parable? "He without sin, cast the first stone."

Wow... lots of assumptions in this one. Lots.

As for the 'good deed'... What, gunning the engine, spinning tires, and giving a 'show' for the crowd is a good deed? Bull. This 'good deed' is the exact behavior that gets car meetups banned across the country.

But hey, you admit to doing it as well, so uhhh... thanks for being part of the problem.

Let me tell you something, I've NEVER done what the guy did in the video (honest) but hey, you assumed that I do because I gave the guy props right?

No, I assumed as much because of your own words

But don't let me interrupt you from thanking this guy for being a veteran just because you saw he has a handicap tag on his dragster....

It just blows my mind that people with these beautiful cars decide to do something so stupid. Sure isn't going to be fun having to fix the car. I hope he learned a lesson.
