Installation underway!

Last night they racked the car on the lift, so they could start putting it back together.

I had been having some issues with the new clutch, nothing major but issues none the less. After they inspected it, they found that the floater rings had some heavy damage to them, from high heat, and the discs themselves have a lot of wear to the pucks. So its rebuild time for the clutch.

I asked Matt if this was because of my power level, thinking that I have just too much power for the clutch. He is still of the opinion that that clutch can handle my power level, but that the wear, and heat, are most likely from me slipping the clutch too much, hard to tell really but for the cost of the rebuild, vs a new clutch. I'd be stupid not to just rebuild it and see what happens from here on out. He will be sending pictures soon and when I get them I'll share them ASAP. Until then all you get is this lame ass picture of them getting ready to rack the car on the lift ....

Yes two things would make this picture even better, one if you motor was in it, two if the picture was you car sitting in your drive way getting ready to whoop some @ss,oops forgot one 3rd if you took the pictures after you whooped some one and you had the losing driver in the back ground crying in his beer/soda

Got some more pictures from Matt today, they inspected the engine and wanted to replace the front and rear cover gaskets, they happen to be the only gaskets we chose to reuse, along with the valve cover gaskets. One of the reasons why I love them so much is their attention to detail, the gaskets looked good, but for the price of new ones, and peace of mind, we all decided to just replace them anyway.

Car made it on the lift, and they spent the day sorting out parts, making sure everything was in order to start the installation. That included the inspection of the clutch. Rebuild is already being done.

Just some more pictures of the progress, day by day.

Matt, and Rodney saw some things with the motor that caught their attention. So I had them go through everything that they could, without tearing the engine apart, and make sure everything was okay. They found a few minor things that they corrected, but it also took a few days to get it ready for install. They will be installing it this week.

My thought's exactly, I never asked them, "hey can you look over our work:, they did that all on their own, I mean don't get me wrong, I still pay the bill for that But that's one bill I am happy to pay for!

He went through the whole thing, with the exception of tearing down the rotating assembly. And found stuff that could have caused me an issue down the road, that in my book is pretty badass, and In my mind, represents his stature as one of the top shops in the country.

Hope you can get your car together and running soon .

I just got done getting my car tuned today. Stock internals, stock zl1 pump, headstuds, 9.5 psi at 665 hp . Would be more but my IATs were too high and causing some knock so we had to pull back the timing a bit.

I think I'm going to go ahead and hookup my meth kit to get those temps down and try again!

Sweet! congratulations man! We will need to get together soon once I have the car back, I am thinking July, I have a vacation planned for the end of June, so that's probably the earliest we could meet up.

I am surprised to hear that you were having an issue with your IAT's, Do you have the CAI or just filters on turbos?
