Reading alcohol content with interceptor gauge

I have the interceptor Gauge for checking my Alcohol Content and it displays it kind of erratically. The number will switch quickly by about 3-4%. I'm not sure if it is just not reading it accurately or maybe I don't have my sensor wired up correctly. I'm hoping that someone who is using it could chime in here. Does your reading stay pretty constant or jump around? I have the JRE flex fuel sensor pinned into the ecm and the gauge is reading from the ODBII. Thanks for any help here.

My flex fuel sensor does the same thing. I just assumed it's normal

Strange, mine reads rock solid, no issues at all. I would double check all the connections.

Those that are reading constant, what gauge are you using? I have an innovate gauge on my mustang and it reads constant. My interceptor on the Camaro jumps around. Wondering if it is the difference of the gauge. Thanks for the input.

Dashlogic, or HP tuners.

If it is jumping around, could be an aeroforce issue, but I doubt it. Should be a constant out from the ecu.

You need to have a flex fuel sensor installed and pinned to the ecu. Than there are some tables that need to be unlocked to utilize it using hp tuners

Yes, just plug HP tuners in, and log alcohol content. It isn't like it changes unless you just filled up.

My Autocal reads the percentage pretty solid. It'll only vary 0.2 - 0.4% at any given time.

Matt will be able to show you how to do the same with your software. Just because he can log the information within HPT, does not mean YOU can, until you setup your PIDS. He will do whats needed within the tune, but YOUR scanner will need to be configured.

I'm not too sure about version 3.0 compared to the newer stuff, I think in the newer version of HPT all you need to do is enable it in your table, I don't believe you need to manually input the PIDS, they may already be there, just a matter of enabling them. I could be completely wrong about that, but from what I have seen of 3.0 they have done away with a lot of that stuff.

Just goto the table, right click, add parameter, select alcohol content, done.
