It's common knowledge in the industry that rental sales = unprofitable. It's just the nature of the beast.

There's also a difference between fleet sales to corporations/government and rental sales.

ok but, its one of the higher margin cars for them. I'm sure they THOUGHT in their ivory tower that sales would be sky high. I think the ZL1 might help them but overall its a FAIL.

GM didn't even get the GenV rollout correct. They were shocked by the number of V8 purchasers so much it got mention on how it increased their profits in the news. Their lack of insight into SS demand may have worked to their advantage creating scarcity and making them desirable for those who want to be the only guy on the block with one.
