What kind of a price are they asking for this car?
Insurance theft recovery and salvage are totally different. Theft recovery is where the owner was compensated (30 days after theft) for the loss and the car was recovered after the the owner has been paid, usually the car has minor damage and is easily fixable. now the insurance company owns the car and wants to get rid of it asap and try to recover as much money as possible....salvage is where the car is has too much damage or destruction to try to get it road worthy or potential could be unsafe....so its sold as a salvage for liability reasons....they dont want to invest a ton of money to try to get it road worthy just to sell it.....in the OPs example they would have to spend 15 k to get it on the road so they could sell it...

I have been buying salvage cars for the last 15 years and never lost money on any of them. I bought salvage car that I liked and drove them for a year or two and sold them and made money off of them. Lot times insurance company will total cars because the owner does not want it back like a lot people on here believe that it's been wrecked it unsafe to drive or do not want a wrecked vehicle. If your buying a car need to have someone inspect it if it not in your area the auction houses (Copart, IAAI) have buyers that will look at them for you and send pictures for around $100-$200.

I have never dealt with Camaro on the salvage side until this year and I bought a 2011 SS convertible theft out of Dallas and had it shipped in. The engine and trans and front seats were missing, I paid more then a should have but it was the color and convertible that I wanted so I was willing to pay more $6200 what I paid. When I got the car there was a few more dents and scraps then I would have liked so I'm installing new front and rear bumpers.

I then bought a 2010 SS that was in my area had more miles on it then what theft car had but have documentation showing miles. The only good body panels were the trunk lid and rear bumper. Did not know if the car ran but was not worried about that, the engine looked like it did not have any damage in the pictures. Removed the engine and tran. computer, radiator condenser installed in theft car took to dealer have programed and it started right up. I paid $4200 for this car plus after using the parts I needed will sell the rest to lower my total price.

As for the paper work each state is a little different and I have not done one in Florida but looks like it ill be no big deal. Most my cars were done in KY at it was simple just have to have receipt showing your parts and who did the work. I have never had problem getting insurance threw State Farm. I always take the car to them and have them look it over and take pictures so they have a record of it.

Looking to buy & flip as a roller.

The only problem I see is selling a newer car. Trying to find the parts they harder to find and there is always changes in wiring are components differences trying to match them up. If you buy a car 2-3 years old there is more of them out there to find parts from.

But you were looking to just buy sell it as a roller and if you got it at that price would been a good deal. There is a lot people on here that only use there car for the track and that a perfect car to not register it and if you wreck it your not out much.
