Sorry should have mentioned that I had the headers flanged like that to match the cats. Local exhaust shop did it. Got the extra flange ring from the cat people to match up together.

Oooooo oooo. I can do that too "Here we have another person" who just gets defensive and assumes they know about everyone's personal experience. And just because something they use is sub par that means anyone who points out the fact has no knowledge of so LSX376 SLP TVS2300 '13 1LE Full front half protected by Xpel PPF Instagram:@Failshift 603hp/547tq 1LE Owners Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/559684050767758/ |

You keep referencing to "sub-par" but have not stated any reason or basis for your claims except your own contorted opinion. Again, please explain to us who HAVE already purchased them, installed them and have had NO ISSUES with either fitment or build quality how they are "inferior" to the point that spending twice or more is worth at best 2-4bhp. Keep on riding the big D there. You seem to ride long and hard...........lol. Some people don't want to spend upwards of $600 or more on a set of headers for bragging rights. We'd much rather spend our hard earned money towards other go fast parts instead. There's a difference between opinion and fact. I've stated facts, you've given your obviously biased opinion. Enjoy your car and we will enjoy ours. G'G'day to you bud.

Ok let's break it down to specific cars- 560hp GTO he had them on for year and a half. Pulled engine. Had flash marks down the block. Went to reinstall, and both banks the header was warped and would not seal. 700 hp Camaro. Inspecting a year later, and the cheap metal had tarnished and looked like cast steel it was so nasty. I've know three people to break a weld on them. Cheap products are cheap for a reason, they're cheap. You pay for what you get in headers. TSP are absolute junk. I've seen them in person and a local buddy had issues with his. Merge spike broke off, bolt holes didn't line up, etc. Speed Engineering are cheap for a reason. Not as good as quality steel. They won't last as long as higher quality headers. Also, you don't want them to be all shiny looking, but if you then shin them yourself. But you really should wrap them or coat them for heat. So many people confuse aesthetics with quality. The best budget header I've seen in person is Stainless Power (Stainless Works own knock off of their headers). After that I recommend Kooks (stepped make more power than rest), Stainless Works, or Pfadt Tri-Y.

I bought the cheapest shit I could find and after 2 years on my weekend car the car still starts and they still flow so they must be worth the money right? Personally just installed the Texas Speed Performance full exhaust package with the Magnaflow Mufflers Tuesday night. Came with the gaskets, O2 extension harness and all necessary hardware.
Came with two sets of axle pipes (one to fit the OEM mufflers and one to fit the Magnaflows). The headers and resonator chambers fit right up. The X pipe was a little tight (wider) than the header spacing. Magnaflow axle pipes were raw and had clamp marks from where the tubing was bent but everything lines up great and the tips are even and centered in the rear facia. Exhaust sounds awesome and I got the whole thing for the cost of just Kooks headers. Down side is TSP's customer service and communication, not very detailed with responding to technical questions or responding to e-mails. |

I just installed the texas speed lt with off road and 3" x pipe, I couldn't be happier with the fit, look and the sounds.

If people take the time to read the camaro 5 forums there are tons.....and I mean tons of people that have went the cheaper route with no issues. Headers have been around a longtime so let's not act like the expensive makes are reinventing the wheel. 304 stainless is used by most makers of headers...bent tubes and welds. Stainless doesn't flex well at all and there is zero pressure buildup so im thinking broken welds are caused by something else. discolouration is normal. It come down to fit and finish....is the cheaper brands have that quality then what's the problem

Like I said. Just because it's 304. Doesn't mean it's quality. Buy something made from Chinese steel. And then one from American. And their will be a noticeable strength/property difference LSX376 SLP TVS2300 '13 1LE Full front half protected by Xpel PPF Instagram:@Failshift 603hp/547tq 1LE Owners Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/559684050767758/ |
