I'm getting ready to do the same. Haven't decided which model Pioneer, but I really want Android Auto after playing with it in a rental car last week. Does the backup camera come on automatically when you go into reverse? Where did you get the Scosche kit?

My girlfriend just got done describing me, and at the end of the description... the last thing she says is "Oh and he drives a Mustang!"

Feeling pretty down right now, what do I do? ):

I'm not familiar with any of the Android models as I own an IPhone. I went with a Pioneer AVIC-5200NEX. It supports Apple Carplay and has built-in Navigation. I had to get an XM tuner kit from SiriusXM in order to have access to the satellite channels. Had to install the XM antenna in the left front corner of the dashboard (didn't feel like trying to figure out how to mount it on the exterior of the car.

The backup camera does come on when I shift into reverse. Had to tap into the backup lights wiring for that. This, and some other Pioneer models are set up for external cameras, there is a plug on the back of the HU for the camera.

I bought the Scosche faceplate kit online. Everything works perfectly. Only other thing, couldn't figure out how to wire the stock USB port in the console. The Pioneer HU came with its own USB and AUX ports, just drilled a hole inside the console cubby box and ran the cords to there. Hidden from view with the lid closed and can plug in my IPhone and leave it inside the console out of sight.

And, yes, the steering wheel controls work perfected with this set up.

I chose the Scosche over the Metra primarily cause I like the look of it better and I had read that the Metra buttons don't hold up as well. Granted that could just be due to the variousness of manufacturing.

I'm still waiting for the OnStar module to arrive, they forgot to pack it in with the rest of the stuff when it was shipped.

For the most part its plug and play, the backup camera is what required some additional wiring.

Total time for installation was about 4-5 hours, took some breaks to avoid the inevitable frustration and urge to grab a hammer to fix some hiccups. My level of electrical wizardry is novice at best. And given how much more complicated these new cars are, I'm sorta surprised I succeeded on my first try.

The Scosche kit does still partially block the rear gauges on the 4-pack, but not any more than the stock system. Don't know how the Metra kit is in that regard.

Either get a new girlfriend or get your current girlfriend some glasses.

Today, I uninstalled a Cold Air Induction CAI, and installed K&N Blackhawk CAI. I was hearing a whistle at low speeds that just got on my nerves. After the K&N install on same stretch of road (25MPH road, with parking on both sides), I heard no whistle.

I'm stuck between the Cold Air Inductions & Blackhawk CAI. was leaning towards the Cold Air Induc. One since the Performance Ratings on it was Good - Yet I LOVE the Blackhawk Look/Finish w/ the K&N Badging and everything - My cars Matte Black so it Fits Perfect!

Although I have & really like the K&N CAI; the Cold Air System is also good quality system. I'm guessing the 'whistling' sound was coming from a leak some where, either due to it not being installed properly (a loss connection) or a defect resulting in connection not sealing properly. I'm sure others with the CAI system will chime in on this.

I was just about to say, all cards on the table, when i was uninstalling the Cold Air Inductions CAI one of the screws on the MAF sensor seemed loose, that probably was where the whistle was coming from. Probably wasn't the CAI system.

Addition: How the screw came loose, i have no idea.

Could have been and the reason I brought it up was several years ago I installed a K&N system om my wife's Monte Carlo and started hearing a whistling sound; turned out that I hadn't tightened one of the clamps down as good as I thought. That being said, don't think you went wrong with the K&N systems; have used and been very happy with them for years.

Sorry, can't help there. I got the K&N 63-3074 Air Intake system and it came with a complete replacement hose & connections.

Or

Addition: Probably will fix the blackhawk install. Take out the OEM crank case vent hose, correctly attach k&n crank case vent hose. That is if I can figure out how to remove the OEM crank case vent hose. It kind of has me perplexed.
