I guess, it came out in my hands. I don't have pictures right now it's at the shop still not fixed.
I know I found some broken plastic pieces on the floorboard afterwords.

Lol wow... they have your entire rear end out for this ?

I like how they just said "F it" and cut the exhaust instead of just unbolting it from the cat

My 2013 had about the same amount of work done to repair it after I was rear ended. Steel absorbs the impact and distorts so once that happens things have to be replaced.

Wow! I feel for you dude, I'm not sure I'd want that car back. I would go after the insurance company and the guy that hit you. Hate to be sue happy, but I'd be really pissed if that was my car. The other guy should have been more careful.

So the shop is going to weld in a new rear end?

I was rear ended while stopped, the guy hit me at an angle and did a number on my right side suspension as well as the body panels. The car healed nicely, not so much the same for me...

Things like this remind me I have no reason to complain about the little things. I was moaning about slightly nicking the back of my rear bumper on a high curb in another thread like it was the end of the world. If this happened to my car, I don't know how I'd handle it.

I really hope somehow the insurance company will declare it as totaled, but it looks like they are well past that point. What they are doing doesn't make sense with the extensive repairs involved. Unless they do a stellar job, which the pictures seem to suggest they aren't, odds are you might not even want this car when they're done. I'm so incredibly sorry. :/
