I'm looking to buy a 13' zl1 and this issue scares me and i will really appreciate any help with it...

I have a 2013 auto car and it has relatively low mileage, just under 10,000 KMS (about 6000 miles). It was fine up until a few weeks ago. Waiting for the dealer to receive the "new" unit. Hopefully the replacement fixes the issue, fingers crossed.

I just dropped mine off to get replaced Monday (8000 miles) I was told they had to drop the engine to get to the bolts and wont get it back until Friday?? Anyone else have the dealer tell you they cant get to the bolts and have to drop the drive train? Seems extreme since GM quotes 6 hours labor.

They drop the front cradle which lowers the back of the engine about a inch or 3, enough to get access to the rear bolts on the rear SC. It's no big deal, I just did it to change the flywheel, clutch, and slave. All the ones I have seen done have been done ths way including mine.

I waited until all parts had arrived. Dropped the car off on a Wednesday morning and picked it up that Friday.

It has been a week since I was told I would be needing a new supercharger. I checked in to see if the parts where in yet. They where not, and I'm still waiting. I have not driven my car since I brought it to the dealer. I don't want the supercharger to seize or cause any damage to the engine. Sort of frustrated at the moment not being able to use the car. The nice weather is a short season in Canada. Any thoughts on if I should keep the car parked until it's fixed? Is it ok to drive with the rattle and squeal?

I really doubt it will seize or cause any other damage for long time unless the rattle is really bad, like a string of firecrackers going off. It mostly likely looks like this:

That's how my snout looked like before the solid isolator.

Thank you Test_Eng for the information. I am hesitant to drive the car, but may drive it until the issue sounds as though it is getting worse. Also thank you to Chevrolet Customer Care. I will message Customer Care in the morning. I would like to escalate the resolve to repair my car.

Well I just had my S/C replaced...they only had the car for 3 days, which is awesome. However, this new blower is rolling around marbles twice as large as the original :(

This is what I am concerned about as well. The dealership said they would only need the car overnight, as it is a 5 hour job. Sounds like it's a bigger job than that. I still haven't been able to determine if the new superchargers are of a different design or just the same old unit that is causing all the issues. My car goes in next week for the repair.
