Nitto 555 G2's

I know tires have been discussed extensively here, but I have not read much about these tires. Those who have had them a while or just got them... What's your opinion of them? I ordered a set for my 2012 with stock wheels, 8" front 9" rear in stock sizes off discounttiredirect.com for $712 shipped to the house. That was a waaayyyyy better price than I quoted from discount tires local store. They arrived on my door step in about 18hrs... I was floored.... I will be putting them on a set of 20" stock Rs wheels I purchased that are currently at the powder coater. I found a set of TPMS sensors on eBay for $49 shipped that also arrived in about 18 hrs.. Again I couldn't believe it! Mounting and balancing I was quoted $80 for the set. So in all I have $841 in these tires installed when said and done. I think I did good... So again, my question is what are your thoughts of this tire? Am I going to regret this purchase? I'll be able to give some input on these in about a week or 2 when I get em installed. Thanks!

I don't have them but I know a guy that runs them and loves them. I think he was running NT05 before and likes these better.

I am about to pull the trigger on these as well. I am finding the best deal on ebay.

I bought a set of Replica ZL1 wheels from Factory reproductions for cheap in a 9 x 20 front and 10 x 20 rear configuration brand new for $650

I plan on these Nitto NT555G2

255/45ZR20 on those 9 x 20 front
http://www.ebay.com/itm/361473325540...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

295/40ZR20 on those 10 x 20 rear
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331847325906...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I really would like to run the 315/35ZR20 on the rear as they are wider and I have traction issues ;*) , but the recommended rim size for these starts @ 10 1/2"... Any input on that? I can get the 315's cheaper on Amazon than the 295's from Ebay..

Either way I have to get rubber, car has been down with threats showing and summer is on us...

I found that if you go to that eBay sellers wedsite directly, you can get them for a few bucks cheaper. At least in my stock size tires. Good luck. The only reason I didn't go with a wider tire than stock on stock wheels is cause I didn't want my tires wearing faster than expected.

I have had the Nitto NT555 G2s on my Camaro since April. Since then, I have only done one track day but a few twisty-road blasts.

I'm running 245/45 20s up front and 275/40 20s on the rear on 9" and 10" wheels respectively.

These tires are awesome.

On the street, they are more quiet than the Hankook Ventus tires I had before and they have far more grip both laterally and linear. Wet traction is also much better than before and I haven't had them hydroplane on me yet.

On the track, steering feedback feels the same but turn-in is much more crisp. I have noticed that the traction threshold at the limit seems a little bit more narrow meaning that once they start to howl, you don't have far to go before they let go. Temperature-wise, once they heat up, they feel awesome and were very consistent lap after lap. They held up much better than my brake pads did.

Same set up for me as well. Thanks for your review. I just had mine put on yesterday with my New wheels and I must say, she handles like a dream... Granted I believe the stock tires I replaced may have been why being they had just under 28000 miles on em.. I love the new look, and so far I'm loving these tires. I'll post up a review in a couple thousand miles. Thanks again.

Thumbs up Nitto T555 G2

Just ordered these from Discounttiredirect.com. 245 45 20 for front and 275 40 20 for rear. $672.74 shipped. I had to call them to get the instant $40 online discount as it disappeared when I ordered two different size tires online. Also mail in rebate for $70 prepaid visa card. Great price all considered at $602.74 with the prepaid card.

I have the G2s on my 01 Trans Am. Put them on in May. Can't complain so far. Good dry traction on twisty roads They do well in the rain too and are fairly quiet.
