Coolant Change

Hi
I have a 2011 Camaro RS with 44,000 KMs (27340 Miles) I was sent a letter from the dealership recommending I get my Coolant Changed.

I bought the car in 2014 (December) with 28000Kms from another GM dealership and because it's reached 5yrs it says I should get it changed (Dex Cool)

Any Suggestions/ Advice?

Thanks

Coolant is changed based on time not mileage. I would definitely get it changed especially you living in the far north. It gets cold up there and you want your coolant to be performing at its best.

I just did my car, '11 with 98000 miles. I bought upper and lower hoses on AMAZON for about $25, the original hoses were getting puffy/swollen. You can do it yourself if your handy. I refilled it with distilled water and Prestone Wash/Cleaner stuff and drove it for a few hours, then drained and refilled with just water twice. Drained about half the water and added full strength DEXCOOL, about a gallon and half.

To be honest...I have yet to change mine (2010)...and see no need. But if you feel the need...do a drain n fill. A flush is not necessary. Just my opinion.
