Started my oil change and, out of all the driven oil I have, had only 4 quarts of LS30 (rest was BR30). Ordered more. At least I was able to easily change the transmission fluid...
Should have checked my supply earlier... -Don

I have enjoyed reading your build sheet and continued updates. I have been talking with Andy at adm about converting my 2012 l99 over to ls3 and possibly the s/c if I can afford it. Is there anything you would have done differently knowing what you do now looking back? Andy will be doing everything. Unfortunately I do not have the skill did you guys do

What would I do differently? Ported snout, ID 850s, and 2 piece pulley would be my only changes from the initial install ( did the ZL1 Fuel Pump and ADM FPCM when Andy did the initial tune). I've done the other upgrades as I went (cooling, intercooler pump upgrade, suspension). I'm beyond happy with what I was able to do with my build. It's like driving a new car each time I start it. Just amazing. For me, I love the fact it's mostly Factory parts... That's about it really. Andy is fantastic and you will love his attention to detail. That is what makes him so good at what he does. He knows what makes a reliable setup and can repeat it over and over again. Mine is unique as I kept VVT and have been happy with it. Trust Andy and what he suggests... -Don

Its always something.
Oil came in, but: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 4 quarts leaked. It appears to have happened when it was dropped off (we're over 100* here today) -- I'm guessing, but anyway, got the oil in, but had a mess to clean off the entryway... @ least the oil and transmission are done now... Next trans change will be dropping the pan and doing a new filter again -- in 10k miles. That will be 25k miles on the filter by then... UPDATE: Jegs sent me 4 quarts to replace what leaked -- very good customer service. I sent them pics of the leaks, and got it sent that same day... -Don

Actually, AC Delco for trans and differential. I like Amsoil and Driven and would use either. I just get a really good deal on the AC Delco so I change the fluids more often...
GPI cam is going to be AWESOME... -Don

Many of you waterless wash, and I'm one of those who do it ALOT. Cleaning the wheels can be a pain, especially if you have ZL1 brakes like I do.
I don't always want to breakout the hose, so this is what I use: Pressure sprayer filled with water and detailers foam soap 32 oz spray bottle full of clean water (usually have to fill it a couple of times). Bucket of clean water and dirt guard leaf blower (electric) Cleaning mitt Adams wheel (wooly) stick I just spray clean water over the wheel to get most of the dust off. Then I use the foam soap and pressure spray it. Leave it sit, then spray it again to get as much off as I can. Once that is done, I then wash off the wheel, then spray it down with clean water. Break out the leaf blower and dry it off. After that, clean soft towel to get any remaining water off. Here is my setup: ![]() ![]() Before: ![]() After: ![]() I keep the pressure sprayer with about 2 gallons of foam cleaner since I wash these often. Adams Waterless Wash get's expensive and their new formula is not in concentrate yet, so I'm going to use the Ultima WW plus. Got a gallon for $66 and it make 44 gallons! Not bad since I use about a half a quart each time I WW my car... BTW, I also use the sprayer for bugs on the front, works wonders too. Wet with water, pressure spray, soak, clean off, rinse with water, then hit with waterless wash or detail spray... -Don

Been taking her out the last few days during the heat to see how things have progressed.
Temps have been fantastic considering the 100* days: Oil is where its supposed to be (220* to 222*) Coolant between 175* and 185* IATs max on 100* days have been 112* (10* to 12* over ambient) Trans has stayed between 175*-180* Hex Vents open, 65% distilled 35% dexcool for radiator and intercooler. Very pleased. Idle has been excellent, startups no issues, still have to run it a couple of minutes (after cold start) before moving but, outside of that, steady eddy... -Don

Happy 4th to everyone. Spending mine with my nephew (Captain in the Marines) and most of our family. Took the beast out with him so he can at least see what his sacrifice allows me to do...
It was fun to see him smile as we tested comp mode with sticky tires ;o) Semper Fi... -Don

So, just a quick update:
This setup has proven to be very reliable, performant, as well as staying cool while cruising the highway! Temps have been fantastic even on the 100*+ days we're having here in Texas. The car is just running spectacularly. I'm VERY hesitant to change anything -- if it ain't broke ;o). Just a blast to drive. On my Goodyears, I have about 13K miles on the tires and they are still in great shape -- as long as I keep out of the pedal ;o) -Don

For the radiator, I'd consider 70/30 or 80/20 as long as you don't get too close to 0*f ambient. I do have a bigger radiator, but yeah, more distilled will help. I may experiment with the mix. Just took it out again, 185* on the highway, 96* out. Trans was 177 to 181*.
It's awesome the way it's running... Thanks! -Don
