I'm pretty impressed with that Heartbeat keeping up with the larger cube build, gives me hope with my F1A and 427 but that torque from the PD is SICK!!!!

Nice build. Surprised I didn't see any posts from the resident LSX bashers on this forum telling you to get a used LS7 shortblock.

oh my ls7 didn't cut it, couldn't handle the boost. lol. thus the lsx427 was put in the mix.
lol yeah 2.3L heartbeat able to give 15lbs of boost on the 427 without overspinning it. I don't really run it at the track, its a highway sleeper for the most part if you know what I mean

LSX is great for 1000+, but added cost, weight, heat for a lower power build. Once he add a 200-300 shot then the LSX would start to shine. Otherwise he should have stayed aluminum if he never planned on going over ~850.

I would say that is more than an opinion to recommend a drag tire that is poor in rain, expensive, doesn't last long, and impacts handling. Iron blocks are like that, lots of downsides, but for certain applications they are great. Hell, I have a LSX block in my car.

It's important to note that people that come across these forums don't always know what they need when it comes to building power. That being said, I feel it necessary to say the same thing that nick said. LSX block really only has an advantage when your going past 1000whp.
