New owner with questions

First I'd like to thank you guys for all the information already here. This is my second Camaro as I had a 95 z28. I've also had two Mustang Gt's. This car has so much stuff it's amazing. My questions are:

1.) Where is the tire sealant kit? This is only a curiosity because I always have a portable compressor and tire repair kit with me.

2.) Any TSB's I should look into?

3.) Did these cars come with a K&N air filter stock?

4.) What options were available above what the 2ss package contained?

5.) Anything else you guys think it would be important for me to know?

6.) Am I required to use only Dexos approved oil and if so what oils can I use to keep the warranty intact?

Thank you

1. Trunk
2. Not really no, just upgrade your oil pump if you want a fatter cam
3. Don't think so
4. Only thing after the 2SS is the 1LE package I believe for the SS cars
5. Doing a burnout at work on Friday evenings is a requirement in these cars
6. I don't think so, but I mean why not get yourself some good Mobil 1 dexos synthetic? Everyone here will have their preference of course

Enjoy!

Congrats and welcome

1-Trunk
2-No
3-No
4-RS & 1LE
5-If you have a specific question regarding anything to do with your car, this is the place to ask it. Others have lot of great expertise & experience in various areas & are always willing to help (of course, you'll also receive various opinions). Also, if you don't have one, down load the users manual.
6-Yes, you need to use dextrose. It is recommended & the user manual states failure to do so can result in voiding the warranty (if that matters to you)

What others have said but also know this..... oil capacity is 8 quarts.

Always check if you have someone else change the oil since I've heard of Chevrolet dealers only putting in 5 quarts.

1.) Where is the tire sealant kit? This is only a curiosity because I always have a portable compressor and tire repair kit with me. in the trunk, under the matt

2.) Any TSB's I should look into? no

3.) Did these cars come with a K&N air filter stock? nope

4.) What options were available above what the 2ss package contained?RS package and 1LE Package are optional for the SS trim.

5.) Anything else you guys think it would be important for me to know? buy some locking lug nuts at the very least and install a fuel cut off switch as cheap insurance so your wheels or car will not get stolen (OnStar is useless in retreiving them, easily disconnected, and a tracking system is usually too late)

6.) Am I required to use only Dexos approved oil and if so what oils can I use to keep the warranty intact? Dexos approved is required per GM warranty

Unless I misunderstood, the RS package isn't in lieu of the SS trim, it's an addition to it. Mine is a 2SS/RS.

RS = red badge was an option package for the V6 and SS, standard on the ZL1, and not available for the Z28.

Great looking car, to the forum!

i know this is going to sound weird, but my auto correct switched my 'is part of' phrase to 'in lieu of'... just got the htc m9 and the keyboard has been screwing me up all day with suggested phrases / words.

edit
which now that i'm looking at it, isn't clear either (probably why the suggested part took over).. oh well, whatever, it's corrected above now. ha
