OEM windshield part#???
I need a new windshield (big crack and a few stone pock marks from Palmer) and my dealer, the high end body shop that is doing the replacement and one of the top internet parts suppliers ALL can't figure out the exact part number??? Apparently there are 2 windshields for the Z/28 referenced both to the model and actual vin.
This was the best response from the internet parts supplier so far: "You would have to look at the windshield to determine which one is need. 22909445 – 1st design - For vehicles built without door lock receiver bracket 23208020 – 2nd design – For vehicles built with door lock receiver bracket From your description I would say you have the 2nd design." Then the body shop kept asking if I had a rain sensor and remote start? I think that box in the upper part of the windshield is for that?...does the Z have these and they are not hooked up? Anybody know for sure the correct part #? Is that little box the "door lock reciever bracket"? Seems like 8020? tia

They should have a break in VIN number to reference. Maybe not?

Don't know if this helps:
Z/28's don't have remote start (due to 6spd manual). and they don't have rain sensing wipers -wiper stalk does not have "Auto" That 1st PN shows 2010-2013 Camaros in gmpartsdirect.com and gmpartsnow.com The 2nd one shows 2014-15 Camaros, however none of those online parts places show specifically for a Z/28. -That box next to the mirror -I always thought this was the OnStar antenna, I suppose there could be a Fob receiver in there as well. Associated -maybe you could attempt to contact the OP on this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ght=windshield |

Why are you asking the forum for a very specific part number and not a GM dealer with your VIN number?

This has come up before http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ght=WINDSHIELD although I have not seen BRT3 on the forum in awhile you might try and PM him and see if he can help you out.

What does the Pilkington stamp info show on the bottom corner of your OEM windshield?

I believe only the rear window glass is thinner, The front glass thickness was not changed. Probably due to safety and strength issues for surviving debris impacts.

We replaced our windshield while doing the Cage and Dry Carbon Roof. We use the front glass with the door lock receiver. They only pulled up one with our VIN??
