Z/28 is an idiot magnet

I know the Z is never going to fly under the radar, but recently it seems I can't go anywhere without some idiot in a over sized diesel truck (very common in Dallas) or an ecoboost V6 wanting to race. I have to admit, it's damn hard to resist, but I will not race on the street and it wouldn't be gratifying anyway. I've even had a few morons nearly hit me by either flying up on my ass or cutting in front of me (to get my attention, I suppose).

I accept that it's very nature attracts boy racers....nature of the beast. Wondering how often this happens to others? I've had a ZL1 and Boss 302. They also drew a fair amount of racer wannabes, but nothing like the Z/28.

Heh, the near misses happen to me daily, while I drive my Toyota Sienna minivan.

I get stuck in accident traffic at least once a day, sometimes as many as 4 or 5 times in a day. Used to be once a week or so.

Big city drivers in the 21st century are bad enough. These Texans driving their oversized trucks... they're a hospital trip just waiting to happen. Just got done dealing with one half an hour ago.

I noted a bit of those same types around my blue SS with the big white rally stripes.

Daily happenings here.....Just the nature of people seeing a nice sports car (and maybe not paying attention to their driving...)

I have a 2015 1LE and it happens all the time. It does not matter what kind of vehicle they are in either. Absolutely can't stand it! The only thing I hate about my 1LE is it attracts so many dipshits!

Three weeks ago I had a guy hanging out of a truck window waving money at me (in a Ford F150) wanting to race for $100 - I yelled back that it wasn't even a race between him and the Z. Really a 4500 lb brick vs a Z? As he turned I looked at my wife and said, hmmmmm a Z28 vs a F150 ecoboost - more like $1000?

No not really - but you're right there are a lot of idiots out there.

I tried to race a Z28 in my ZL1. He said he'll take my money in the curves, but in a straight line he'll have to pass. We still played a little for a few stop signs, but once we got on the main roads we acted like grown-ups and went our separate ways.
