I don't WANT one, why? It's overkill. Why am I paying $10k - $15k for extra performance stuff that I'm not even gonna use lol? Explain that to me and maybe I'll go out and buy a V8 . My Camaro does about 350hp, stock v8 can do 426hp. So it has a higher performance in terms of hp, but I'm not even using the 350hp that I have right now! So what's the point? The only VALUE I see is the V8 sound, that shit is awesome and chicks like it. But my MRTv2 has added a nice muscular note and I think that's loud enough. I don't see the point of the V8 package for a daily driver dude because you aren't even using most of the additional performance upgrades. Makes more sense to who? 97% of people don't even know what the hell a V8 is lol. They see a CAMARO coming down the street, a big, red, shiny, Camaro with 24 inch wheels and they say, "Tenacity, that's sweet man!" I've had one person ask about a V8 and it was that chick I was screwing, who was just doing what people call "shit testing" me and I admit...I got a little emotional over it lol. But I still F-ed her! |

I wanted a straight 6, but had to settle for a "V".
I-6s are much easier to work on. BTW, my current V-6 has much more power than my '67 V-8 Camaro.

I think its great that the Camaro is offered in v6 for people who are into the styling over the mechanical aspects of the car. If I was going v6 car however Id probally go import or god forbid Ford Ecoboost.
Ive always been in to muscle cars and for me that means v8 power nothing can replace the two extra cylinders as far as engine smoothness and sound which contribute to my overall enjoyment of the car. I have no doubts some v6s are faster than my car and that's great but Id still go with the 8. |

... and the new I4 has much more power than the 93 V-6 Camaro's, so.

It's one of those "if I have to explain it to you, you're not gonna understand" kind of situations. The guys (myself included) that "need" the V8, big brakes, manual transmission, etc, just operate in a different brain space than most of the driving population. Doesn't mean that everybody needs that stuff, many people truly can't even appreciate the difference, and/or would never use that power/handling. Which makes having both models available a great thing, everybody wins.

You love your car and you're happy with your purchase. Fine! I get it. But don't go around re-defining what constitutes a "pony car", "sports car" or "muscle car" because you just end up sounding like you're tweaking terms to suit your own beliefs. You speak as though you are constantly under some kind of attack and from what I have seen, nobody here has been picking on you, or anyone else, for buying a V6. You clearly like your car, it's meeting your needs and it's apparently gotten you laid (something you keep feeling the need to bring up for some odd reason). Just be happy and be done with it. There's no drama here other than what you are bringing with you. Scott

Not to mention those big rims on your car is going to f up your suspension and brakes and then you'll be asking yourself "HMMM was this $5k repair bill worth the rims"
I bought my used 2011 2SS/RS (fully loaded) with 40k miles for $24k out the door. Less than a brand new V6, I was smart and waited until the price went down and found the perfect vehicle for me. V8 > V6 in every aspect, your gas bill isn't much lower than mine either, I get 24mpg on the highway and avg anywhere from 15-19 in the street depending on how I drive. |
