Why a V6?
The V6 has more horsepower per liter.
The V6 has more horsepower than the V8 of previous generations.
The V6 has more technology compared to the pushrod V8.
and finally
I daily drive my car and I want the better gas mileage.

I just hate that great low end torque that the V6 doesn't have. I mean, what's the use of such power if 99% of the time I "shouldn't" use it?

I'm also starting to hate that glorious, bad ass, V8 sound. I have the NPP with the fuse pull (and will soon get headers and eventually a CAM) but what's the point of such musical sound if 99% of the cars out there don't make much noise. I can't even start the car anymore without getting sad of how loud and beautiful it sounds.

Don't even get me started on the terrible mpg. Just last week I drove 60 miles doing 70-80 mph and I was getting an embarrassing 25mpg! Then out of the highway I make sure to use the great engine and only get 13-15mpg. Sometimes I even wish I would have just gotten a Prius since MPG was obviously a deciding factor when I bought my 6.2L, 420+hp, 420tq, 4,000lbs mighty American machine.

Sorry for the rant, I just cry myself to sleep every night due to people hating on my V8. ��

I don't see why anyone couldn't DD the SS? I did my Mustang GT and my Camaro with no issues. Sure the fuel mileage is a bit worse, but these cars are made for smiles per mile, screw mpg. In this aspect, it delivers in spades.

sure you could for 25 years my daily was a 66 pontiac,400 ci,cam,headers and judge carb/intake.i loved that car,but got 8 mpg with no a/c and to this day my ears ring from enjoying that engine sound.im old,dont race(as much)and the 6 suits me fine.however at the show or the dragstrip i will admire your car and what youve done to it,and hope that you would return the favor.its not like youre driving a dang honda or something...
