Dry rotted Troffeo tires

I just bought my Z/28 and noticed my tires have cracks in them. Took it to the dealer and they don't want to cover them under warranty. Has anybody else had this problem?

yes...a few people have noted the dry rotted, cracked tires and have had them replaced under warranty. You will have to give the new car speech as in "I bought a brand new car and expect to have brand new tires...not cracked dry rotted ones!!!"

Did you buy it new or used? I think that might be part of the reason if bought used.

That stinks
Don't give in to the dealer.
They're trying to brush you off.
You can get a rep involved.
I have an extra set in the shop so I better use them up at the track...

Show them your tire warranty guide. That's BS if they won't honor the warranty on a brand new car.

What was their reason for not wanting to cover them? It's a brand new car for Christs sake. Do they make it a habit of selling new cars with rotten tires? It's their fault the tires are shot. Had they stored the car properly, they'd be fine.

I purchased my car new from Stevenson Chevrolet in NC. Car delivered to Miami, FL. Found tires cracked, took to Lorenzo Bomnan Chevrolet in Dadeland area and they replaced them, no questions asked.
I would recommend you go to a different dealership and speak with the serviced manager. Also, if you read the addendum regarding the tires, it states that they cannot be subject to extreme cold. If the dealership left the car outside during cold weather, they are responsible for the damage.

http://www.chevrolet.com/content/dam...PREP_Final.pdf

Please note: Excessive tire wear is not covered under the vehicle warranty. Driving on wet roads, in heavy rain or through standing water with competition-oriented tires may cause hydroplaning and loss of control. This is a race tire and wear performance will be markedly different than most tires, not just reduced tire life. These tires will have significantly reduced tread life. The special tread pattern and compound will have decreased performance in cold climates, heavy rain and standing water. Competition-oriented performance tires have rubber compounds that lose flexibility and may develop cosmetic surface cracks in the tread area at temperatures below 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C). Always store Ultra-High performance summer tires indoors and at temperatures above 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) when not in use. If the tires have been subjected to 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or less, let them warm up in a heated space to at least 50 degrees F (10 degrees C) for 24 hours or more before being installed or driving a vehicle on which they are installed. Do not apply heat or blow heated air directly on the tires. Always inspect the tires before use. Only use GM-approved tire and wheel combinations. Unapproved combinations may change the vehicle’s performance and handling characteristics. The Z/28 uses a specific TPM sensor (the same sensor used on the ZL1 and 1LE). See the electronic parts catalog for ordering information. The Z/28 tires cannot be rotated and are corner-specific by design. Do not perform wheel alignment for tire wear.

I'm going back and if they refuse to take care of the problem I'll go to a different dealer. Last resort call GM customer service.
