Ok, I can understand the guy calling in, but I CAN NOT understand the cops reaction after you explained to him tha tyou thought or WERE being followed by "who know who" and after talking to you dad on the phone, she was just being an ASS, plain and simple.

I don't know how you didn't see it was a cop when you did a u turn. You should have pulled over right then, rather than accelerate away. They like to drive fast and the chance of a high speed pursuit with a pit maneuver would make their day. Be careful out there.

in this case... wouldnt it have been better to come to a complete stop... with your foot waiting to take off... and wait for the person to pass u?

just think ing thats what id have done...
cuz if he comes out of the car i can speed off, if he comes infront of me and parks, drop it in reverse...

Just curious...
Ethnicity is the word you're looking for, not nationality.

I'm confused by this statement. Are you saying that the OP and Sir Nuke are driving the same car? OP driving a 1SS CGM, Sir Nuke has a 2LT IOM

In a case like this, if possible, I'd say drive to a well lit area, like a gas station or storefront. If you have the option, somewhere with alot of people around.
Strange they gestured for you to come to them, out of the car. Usually they want a violater to stay in the car.

I once called a guy in for erratic driving because of a similar thing. However, This guy accelerated to somewhere close to 100mph in a 45 during morning traffic several times. I tried to keep up with the guy once to get his plate # and ended up going about 75 and he was still pulling away from me. I realized how fast I was going and gave up. This particular road had many intersections into residential neighborhoods with just 2-way stop signs. There is no way this guy could've braked fast enough if some mom in her minivan pulled out at 15mph expecting the traffic to be going 45-55mph.

a Thought

You didn't do anything wrong, but you should just only drive like that in a more "desolate" area where no one will see you or even notice/or care.

the outside world will likely see your vehicle manuevers as "racing".

I should not have to explain this to an engineering student.

do not draw attention to yourself especially if you are doing it in a high performance car. in theory, you are asking for problems.

Lets get this right,
1, You consistently drive erratic in a populated stretch of road, and its the other drivers fault?... that they call you in....
2, You play hide and peek with an unknown pursuit vehicle for 15 minutes equaling miles of roadways before you do an illegal u-turn and its the officers fault he didn't understand your intentions?
3, They call your Dad? Like he has some sort of magic fix for your behavior?

Anybody else see a pattern here??

Don't mean to rag on you, obviously your a smart kid by your degree choice but taking responsibility for your actions will not be covered in college..... needed to take that with you when you left home. IMHO
Lesson learned
