I always use my e-brake when parking, then let go of the regular brakes to see if it rolls, place it in first or reverse depending on the incline, and turn off the car. One time and one time only, I lifted my foot off of the clutch before turning off the car and the e-brake held the car in place and allowed it to stall. If the e-brake had failed there it would have jerked forward and hit my wife who was standing in front of the car. Thank God that I didn't have one of these faulty e-brakes.

Same here, my parking break will stall the car if I try to take off with it engaged...

Go to the dealer and get it adjusted, or just go to the gym and muscle up those girly
arms LOL. You should always pull it hard enough to stall the car if you try to drive with it on. That way you will never burn it up by forgetting that it is on. Never rely on just putting it in gear with a manual tranny. I saw someones car pop out of gear because the high winds were rocking the car and it worked out of gear. He found his car across the street in the side of another guys car.

You definitely have to pull the brake up hard; as far as it'll go when parking on an incline. Just last night I found this out parking in a steep driveway. I do follow the directions in the manual though and put it into reverse first, pull up on the brake and then turn off the motor. Seemed to all work fine.

Why? Do you always park in neutral? I've never needed a parking brake to keep my car where i parked it.

Make sure its all the way up, not just half way. Thought I had mine on once and the car started rolling. Stopped, pulled it ALL the way up, and it was good.
