Hell ya, do it. My car is working out the tune still but it pulls like a freight train with same setup but different 17" wheels

Might have been that, it was some time ago I saw the slips. I know he showed me before and after converter so I don't remember exactly all the details.

So how do you all like the 1E converter for DD use? I am looking at that now. Wanting a circle D triple disc converter that I can daily on my current setup. Eventually will cam it with a GPI VVT cam.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Smile L99 Cam Swap Suggestion + 3.91 Gears

Hey guys, gonna comment as well, new to this. But I also have a stock camaro l99 with only 3.91 gears and a TruTrac Posi. One of my lifters went out, so I’m going with ls7 (budget) unless you guys have better suggestions? So I will be doing a Cam swap mild, any recommendations welcomed. It’s my daily for now I wanna get the best rwhp with stock converter until a little later. Lifter went out so doing a cam swap with lifters etc. but don’t know what Best cam to use with gears also. Converter will go in later but don’t wanna swap out to a bigger cam later, GPI Ss1/2 or Tsp ?? Will stay VVT most likely.

If I were in your shoes, I would go with the GPI SS2VVT. While it's recommended to use a converter with that cam, it can be used with the stock converter, but its gonna push/surge when you come to a stop. It will be annoying.. So be prepared for that. If your on the fence about adding a converter later, SS1VVT would be the best choice IMO.

Best option, call GPI/TSP and tell them your plans/budget and get their recommendations. Buy your lifters with the cam and dont go looking for a cheap set, it will cost you later on. If you get a chance, watch this from Ryan at GPI -
