so while the debate continues...
I am on day 5 of 6 driving the V6 in the rocky mountains of BC, mostly highway. so far passing others no problem, even up hill acceration is fast. When no one in front can quickly attain my chosen max speed after reviewing the suggestions posted. corners are 30-40km higher than suggested.
This leaves me baffled because I have not missed those two cylinders. I do run 94 pure gas which could explain this, plus the gas mileage is totally unexpected running at 10L avg per 100 averaging 100kmh. to pass I gain 30-50km alongside of the car being passed.
I get the V8 are quicker to get to cruise, but I can wait the extra 2 seconds.

Why is this even a topic, if you don't like the V6 but you purchased it that's your mistake. I am not trying to get into a fight with anyone but I have a V6 1LT convertible, and I have had it for a year now. I am 19 years old, and wouldn't trade up to the V8 at all. For many different reasons. Ya it may be nice but one day I will get the V8, and hopefully maybe even a ZL1 at that point if I have the money for it. It's better to be happy with the car that you have then to complain about it because at least you have a car. Some people can't even afford car's and they are forced to ride a bike, or take a bus, or a taxi etc... Also it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to make the V6 as fast as the V8 if you got nitrous it puts you in the same power levels almost. Again this was not to start a fight or anything but just love the car you have, and be grateful you can afford it.

I wanna fight you.

Seriously, kudos to you for being fiscally mature & responsible at your age. The 2014-15 Camaro is an awesome vehicle, especially the convertible. If you really want a V8, be patient & it'll come with time.

Engines with less than 8 cylinders suck. They have no place in motorsports and no history of greatness or even usefulness.

A few of my favorites
-Porsche flat 6
-BMW M3 e30, e36, e46
-Audi 5cyl turbo, 3.0T, 2.7T
-Buick GNX
-GMC Syclone/Typhoon
-Nissan GTR
-Cummins, Powerstroke, Duramax
-WRC 2.0l 4 cylinder

etc etc etc so many more crappy engines we could list...

I'm starting to wonder if I really should have gotten a V6? Swap in the good bits from 1LE and z/28. Build engine + twin turbo. Just because it's different. But no. V8 IS different for me. I've had a long string of 4's and 6's. (not counting a couple of trucks) So I'm enjoying it.

I love cars and bikes. Trucks. I like pretty much all engine types. Hell I pretty much like all things mechanical, with a fondness for machines that move you.

I like the V8, I enjoy the sense of occasion, it's an event when I start it up, when I tip into the throttle. (Just the tip just for a second just to see how it feels).

I'll take them all.

Stop feeling the need to defend your choice, stop judging others for their choice. Love thy neighbor, especially his wife. (I think that's how it goes?).

Nah. Let's crack another beer and enjoy the toys we are lucky to have these days, whatever their engines, driven wheels, etc.
