Nah, I'd say more approx 2/3 throttle, all else being equal.

I have owned both, the SS is a big difference. The LS3 is an absolute blast, period. The 1LT I had was also a manual, no comparison between the two. If you can afford it and want the SS you won't be sorry.

If you want to get statistical the 425HP LS3 is 31% more power, the L99 is 24% more power than the V6.
So you are both right.

My first Gen 5 was a 2014 V6 convertible. On paper, it made as much HP as my 2004 V8 non general motors car. So I only looked at the V6's thinking I didn't need a V8 as I was very happy with the power from my V8. Overall, the V6 Camaro was ok for me, but every day that I drove it I missed that V8 sound, smoothness, and low end torque. After a year, I traded it for a 2014 SS convertible...best thing I ever did. I am not dis'ing the V6 cars, for me, it just was a personal desire. But having both cars gave me a perspective, which surprised me. As a comparison to the V6, the SS is obviously faster and has more low end. And I have manual trans with NPP exhaust and for me, the V8 exhaust sound is music. But surprisingly, the ride is smoother, it handles rough roads better, and the steering is fabulous - more power assist than the V6. IMO, the V8 car just drives easier.

I've driven a friends 2010 1lt, but I didn't get to really open it up because she doesn't beat on it, so I wanted to respect that. Other v6s I've driven just don't have the effect of throwing you back in the seat that an ss or z would have. Most medium to large chevy dealers should still have both a v6 and v8 5th gen on their lot if you'd wanted to take both for a test drive.

When I was looking, the V6 had a more subtle ride, the SS was more stiff.. BUT, I love the SS ride...so I went with that.

325hp to 400 or425hp, is approxomitly 3/4. The 8 is only alittle over one second faster into 1/4 mile12.9 to 14.2.

wonder how the 6 would respond to a turbo and intercooler...the buick GN was a killer car.

I upgraded from an 2013 v6 1LT automatic to a 2015 manual 2SS with dual mode exhaust....... The sound alone was worth it!

About 500rwhp plus or minus 20 hp, depending on how hard you want to push it. .
